Whilst I'm a bit sad that I missed my chance to ride an N Class on the Gippsland line, I'm thankful for videos like these that let me experience them by proxy.
I love going to Bairnsdale and seeing Bruce De Haas on the N Class Locomotive early in the morning at about 3:25am and I would stand on the Footbridge at Bairnsdale Station and he will give me and very long loud Leslie RS5T HORN SHOW on the High Note Horn and that makes me so happy and excited!!😁😁😁
Nice to hear an N and not have to keep turning the volume down for the Vlocity horns. 😆 Checking my records, yes, this was, of course, the one time I missed 8469 the previous night and this particular 8460 service. Explains why I didn't have any photo or video of N 471 other than on those very last loco-hauled services.
There are people complaining on this end and Warrnambool line is no Cafe Bar on V/Line VLocity for long distance and my toughts just go buy snacks and coffee bring on the train or just install coffee machine on any carriage set.
I hate the government for not investing in actual new rolling stock designed for long distance use. They could even build new locomotives, like what the US is doing! Maybe build new N class locomotives or something.
