Travel with the train driver as we journey from Goornong to Bendigo on the Echuca line in the north of the state of Victoria, Australia in this Vlocity railcar. April 2024 #train #driverseyeview #driversview #traindriversview #vline
I’ve heard of preplanning but Huntly seems to be an indulgence specially when Bendigo already has 4 stations. And Ballarat is bigger and can’t even get a 3rd for the western suburbs. Still the helps that the local member was the Minister of Transport.
@@driver667 yup agree but my point still stands. Ballarat has only two and is a bigger city. Huntly is all of 10 minutes from Epsom and 15 from Goorgong. So at $2-$3 million a piece once of those could have been sacrificed. 5 stations including Huntly versus two for a bigger city does seem a tad pork barrelling.
@@driver667 From reading your and others' explanations of the reasoning behind why this stretch of slow track continues to exist, why haven't the policing and trespassing problems long-since been addressed and taken care of? Why would the Australian government, which I understand owns this stretch of railway line, be willing to tolerate this situation for as long as it evidently has for more than several years now. This slowdown makes no sense - and it surely must be greatly discouraging people from wanting to use this train route.
