Love how people are talking about that 5 second 0-60 like that's as fast as it could go. If you watch he only reved out to like 4500 rpm in 1st on a 7500 rpm car. If it was an auto it would have been closer to 3.9-3.8 if not faster. Internet keyboard warriors don't know how difficult it is to control 700+ horsepower with a stick. After all they have only experienced their Honda Civics.
This video did more of a disservice to the car than anything. Not faulting the the reviewer, but most people watching were expecting a full on drag strip hero acceleration run, not an everyman driver run on public streets. The OP should post a link to one of these on the drag strip to show the car's potential after his test drive. The same folks (me included) would have criticized him if he had wrapped it around a telephone pole with temp tags after ruining a cruise in or Cars 'N Coffee while trying to write checks his driving skills couldn't cash. The thing we have to remember is that this car is on a test drive. Someone still will buy this car and they do not want to buy a car thrashed by irresponsible drivers on a joy ride with no intention (or wherewithal) to buy the vehicle. ED drove it like you would if you were seriously considering buying the car.
$78,000 Wow. I'm not seeing the performance value in one of these compared to a regular GT with a supercharger kit installed. You could have a magneride equipped GT with a blower for 30 grand less
He's no race car or drag car driver. Not knocking him, but it'll do 0-60 a lot faster. I have a 2019 GT PP1 manual with 3.73 rear...my best 0-60 with it is 4.8 sec. That is totally stock. The automatic goes around 3.9-4.1 0-60. Cant's shift faster than the computer...but shifting the gears manually is much more fun.
Mustang GT coupe, Performance Package Stage 2 , cloth Recaros , few nice items...a little short of $48K. Roush/Ford supercharger installed about $10K. Both still have the garbage MT-82 Getrag/China-sourced gearbox- sometimes, in the still of the night you can hear the forks popping on those gear boxes. Ford really needs to offer the Tremec in the GT
olikat8 the tremec in the gt350 is the reason i bought it over that ugly overpriced roush, yeah its got more power than the gt350 but the roush is not in the same class as the gt350
Hahahaha Dave! I love the excitement in your voice! Too funny. I love Mustangs, I have 2014 GT convertible no where near the vehicle your driving. Car sounds almost as good as you, almost. LOL!
Oh boy tool kit I've seen the exact same one at at TJ Maxx or Marshalls she get a roush sticker on it and he's all excited over that little bitty wasn't even going full performance on this thing man must driveway yugo
I have a 2017 with roush stage 2 720hp and mine does 3.5 sec to 60! And it fries tyres in first and second! What the hell is wrong with this thing! The standerd car is under 5 seconds how on earth can 200 added horsepower go slower! Very strange if you ask me!!
This one would likely do the same. It does seem that he is babying the car out of respect to the dealership that loaned it too him. He does not appear to be driving it hard at all and you know with that power level it would not take much to get away from the driver and become an internet meme.
Horrific driving from a typical Salesman. U can spot these sunglass on hat, shaved arm LEECHES a mile away at the dealership. Dummy switching gears like he's on a motorcycle, killing the clutch... Flooring it on stationary turns, ripping the tires. Exact type of guy to hit a tree and blame the car, then get fired and move to Hyundai.
I have a 17 like you with roush 720hp and its fries tyres in first and second and does 3.7 to 60! I dont no what on earth this thing is its slower than a non blown engine! Something is not right here! Very strange!!!
I’ve driven one and car has absolutely no traction. It’s a lot of fun but practically useless for any performance oriented driving, hence the embarrassing 0-60. But on slicks though, that’s another story.
I drove one in 1997! Thank God I'm a pro driver because this kinda car ain't for new or even average drivers!!! Awesome vehicle! Btw, back then they cost $37,000 est. price new.
You can get just the supercharger kit for 10k and with a base mustang costing 30k you can have 710hp for 40k but it dosent have that good of suspension and stock tires but you can do that yourself and for 50k you basically have the car in the video
Correct. No warranty with mods including tunes. I would say that price point is in the area of the upcoming 2020 base GT500 with Ford's warranty. I really enjoy your sharing vehicles with us, but you left a lot on the table with this fantastic Mustang trying to obtain 0-60 times while merging into traffic. I'm guessing if you had a redo. You would take that car and test it on a track after exceeding Roush's break-in protocol. To much car for street timing in traffic.
Tuning done by a Ford dealership has the warranty, if you purchase an air filter/tuner kit from Ford Performance, available for Ecoboost, V6 & V8s, and it's also 50 states legal.
I don’t know what to believe! You were raving about how fast this car is and there was another RU-vid video where the guy said it doesn’t feel fast at all as a matter fact he said it doesn’t even feel as fast as a standard mustang GT which I find hard to believe I just think he’s a mustang hater.
Everyman Driver I think this guy was just putting it down because he doesn’t like mustangs. I can’t imagine a 710 hp Mustang GT would feel slow. Matter fact I may go out and buy one tonight.
...with a warranty. That is the key for some folks. I modified my Mustang and Camaro and tossed the warranty. Mine have no cats and non-emissions legal cams, heads, superchargers etc. No dealer would touch 'em. However, I figured I would never leave them with the dealer anyway. I would not trust them to fix the issue without taking them for a joy ride on my dime.
