This is, in my opinion, the finest segment Drive has ever put together. I've watched nearly every episode of every Drive show from the beginning and this is perfection. You all at Drive should be enormously proud of how far the network has come. Chris Harris is the man. What a special film.
Honestly, there's nothing I like more than seeing a vintage car like this covered in dirt with a leaf stuck in the grille. That's just how it should be.
Chris, this video truly gave me a knot in my stomach. I live in New Mexico. Needless to say there aren't many stunning British cars here. I have an MGB roadster and hope to do a race like this with my son. i now know that I will be restoring my little red rocket and attempting something like this before I die. Thank you once again for letting some of us gear heads peer in to such stunning machines. Keep on driving!
I don't know much about the "automotive entertainment" in New Mexico but maybe the "Silver State Classic" in Nevada would appeal to you and your son. This link will take you to their entry form . There are a collection of PDF forms for entry. The accounts I've read about it sound sound similar to the current Mille Miglia. It looks like a lot of fun.
These are the moments when I'm proud to be italian. A friend of mine defined the Mille Miglia like "Anarchia stradale", that could be translated as "road Anarchy". Something this astonishingly intrisic beautiful could never take place anywhere else than Italy.
Ian Findlay Hmm, the Gumball 3000 has been run across Europe several times. If you factor in German pop-music, French television, and British cuisine I think the Americans come out on top. Regardless, you're displaying your ignorance.
Dave839 German pop music, French TV and British cuisine!!! Those are three big winners. And of course the Gumball was such a fabulous success, with multiple accidents, confiscations and so on. Keep on sniffing.
I am beyond words. This might be one of the best videos I have ever seen on RU-vid. Thank you Chris, thank you Al. What an amazing piece. The things you say, Chris, just crack me up. You cover these cars and these events brilliantly. I praise you. Many thanks.
One of my favorite Drive segments. Beautiful cars, beautiful city, and beautiful sounds with footage to boot. If one were to make the footage black and white, some of the driving scenes would look like something out of a classic peterol head movie.
the passion. the history. the machinery. the stories.. how could one not just drop dead from the experience and culture you immerse yourself in. cheers, chris
l am sooooo jealous of you two being able to do this in that jag ,talk about living history .l most happy that the jag was able to do what it built to still fantastic insight for all of whom get to see this .
+SteveBMX01 He got fed up with Ferrari and how they change their cars to make them look better on test drives, so he lost it and went on a rant about ferrari... Its a good read look up why Ferrari spins
Daniel Horceag He wrote an article about Ferrari for evo and it wasn't the nicest article about them. It was all true but ferrari weren't happy with him so he's not allowed test the cars or go to the factory
He accused ferrari of setting up their road test cars differently to the final production models. It was a really minor comment, but Ferrari have banned him from test driving any of their cars since!
Here's his column where he talks about the rules Ferrari impose on journos, jalopnik.com/5760248/how-ferrari-spins He's driven a ton of Ferraris since, presumably sourced from owners.
Absolutely fantastic! A rally like this is just so special... all about enjoying yourself and bonding with the car, you must have the time of your life!
There is not enough like buttons for this video! Just WOW!! To comprehend such a tour is... well in-comprehend-able!! Amazing work guys! What a car, what a noise, what a tour!
I can only second kinarkyl's opinion. This is the best drive episode you guys made! The attention to detail, the originality, and of course the brilliant cars make this video so special and unique.
This is why I subscribe to Drive. Thanks for sharing an amazing good time in a car that so few will ever experience outside of this video. I was smiling as big as they were at the end.
This has to be the best chris haris on car i have ever seen, just epic!! Wish this epp was ALOT longer, just could keep watching and listening to that amazing sound! I wish cars sounded like that stil!! U cnt beat that raw meaty sound!M well done chris and drive for this vid!!
You captured some of the spirit of the original race. It's not about rules and driving in convoy!! It's about gunning it hard and enjoying the cars. I salute you both!
Firstly, that was an awesome way to spend 19 minutes of my evening so thank you Chris, Jag and Drive for that. Secondly, I can't be the only one who hate's Chris a little bit to know he earns his living doing this. To say I'm jealous is a massive understatement.
The tenuous link I have to this video - that of owning a Jag and being British - makes me gleeful, and a little bit emotional. Thanks for a brilliant show!!!!
I'll be on Mille Miglia in the future. Don't know when, but I will. This video got me thrilled, what an amazing piece of film. I LOVE /DRIVE NETWORK, Chris, JF, Matt, Larry, Mike and all other guys. The best channel for petrolheads. Ever.
Lol just realized I was there when you guys finished! was working on the Lake that year in Desenzano, went to Brescia for a night out, had no idea MM was on! Awesome site, all those cars!! Swoon!
