For more information, see nu32.org. This video is a supplement to the book "Embedded Computing and Mechatronics with the PIC32 Microcontroller," Lynch, Marchuk, and Elwin. It is part of Northwestern University's ME 333 Introduction to Mechatronics.
L-comp: Assume the resistance of the motor is R = 10 ohms and the initial current through it is I = 2 amps. The switch is then opened, and current starts flowing through the flyback diode. Assume the forward bias voltage of the diode is 0.7 V. If the inductance of the motor is L = 1 mH, what is the rate of change of the current I immediately after the switch is opened?
