I tell you, nothing is more impressive (or intimidating) than seeing the iconic silhouette of Mount Vesuvius looming in the distance. I'd never really given Napoli much thought before seeing this video. It's a lot bigger and busier than I thought it would be, though that's by no means a complaint. It's also quite beautiful. I'm adding it to my Italian itinerary. Ciao from Los Angeles!
Pleasantly surprised to see how much the city has improved since I was last there more than 20 years ago. Many of the buildings in the center were then quite run down and filthy but it appears that significant strides have been made to refurbish and clean that up. I loved the Luca Giordana area; it demonstrates how much a hot city like Naples would benefit from planting shade trees and other greenery. I think I'll make a return visit. The city administration seems to be pretty good.
There are still many areas that are still run down like Spanish quarters and such areas but overall Napoli has improved a lot also the criminal organisations are by far not what they were 20 years ago anymore. After the release of the book gomorra a lot has been done.
Glad to see you were out on your bike to film this video, I am so glad that Italy is opening up , the Italian people have gone through such a severe lockdown, so happy to see a latest video from ProWalks!
😎 👏🏽 This is really well done! I see that such modern inconveniences as stop signs, lane indicators and traffic markers are still considered as optional regulations in Italy 🤣😂😉
I don't know where have you been in Italy, but I was born and raised in Milan and very rarely I saw someone not following signals or traffic lights, only in Turin and in the south (under Rome and I consider Rome to be in the centre/south, becauseit has more like a southern vibe) you'll find people who doesn't respect rules on the road
OMG - they were crazy-mental drivers almost 40 years ago , when I was last there - so funny and reassuring to see some things don't change 😆. Thanks for this glorious techni-coloured trip in this vital city - stirred up old memories.
Well!! That was some journey Pro Walks!! I was trying to look at the buildings but couldn't take my eyes off the road and the crazy drivers and pedestrians that don't seem to have any regard for their safety or anyone elses!! I alternated between "ooh that's beautiful" to " hmmm bit dodgy here" !! It was great though to see all the different aspects of Naples Amazing city! Thankyou x
It’s quite different to watch the scenery on the bike with you. I must admit that nearly half the time my eyes are on the road and other vehicles, almost forgetting to look at the interesting architecture and people.
Yeah, I'm not sure if biking videos work well for a busy city. I filmed a ride down the Appian Way last week. I think that will be better. I also filmed a ride around Rome.
Hi Prowalk's Love your videos, very informative & visually immersive (in 2D). Im just wondering if you plan on making some of your walk through in Virtual Reality so that we could enjoy it with the VR goggles & be truly immersed in the destinations you taking us to ??
Thanks for taking me around my beautiful city during the Christmas lockdown.
Damn. Our earth is an epitome of beauty and perfection. sometimes i feel so grateful, cuz i have a good internet connection to watch long videos like this on 720p 60fps 😂😂😂
Awesome video, thank you, you made me feel home again! Aside from that great video and love you used an electric bike, very zippy and handy in the Napoli traffic! And you got to have that Neapolitan instinct while driving while cutting off some of those nasty mopeds, well done Neapolitan style ahahah. 😂👍
It was just wonderful to watch the video in slow motion and enjoy the street of Naples and its surroundings, and big Thanks you are back, We all Prowalk Lovers Welcomes you with a new concept of driving and showing cities in your Channel - Thanks for Sharing.
ENG- Unfortunately, if the narrow streets of Naples didn't have all those graffiti and writing on the walls, and the houses falling apart, it would probably be the most beautiful old town in Italy.
Hai ragione.
Mt. Vesuvious on a clear day from the height of Naples is literally breathtaking, though locals say they are not thrilled any more, understandably. See Naples and die, indeed. Cycling around this town is a challenge unless you stay in seafront.
Sweet memories of my last August holiday in Naples. Charming town with lots to see and enjoy! I'm eager to see it again in the near future after situation will be back to normal
The city is stunning but the traffic and your driving skills are terrifying. You have no respect for other drivers, walkers and traffic rules, red lights. Hope i will never met you on the road..
I lived there for three months for the summer of 1982. In Pianura to be exact. I loved seeing Vesuvius every day, and smelling sulfur from La Solfatara.
Naples neighbourhoods in the early part of the tour look like second world cities with trash scattered around and what has to be illegal electrical wiring running all over the place. People either can't afford or can't be bothered to fix and paint exterior walls and this goes for city government too where buttress walls adjoining roads are decaying with sections falling off and missing in several places. The main roads and touristy areas appear in much better shape. Was anyone else made "nervous" by the driving of "our" guide and other motorists?
@Robert Ventilii.....that is true....but Naples is not know for following rules. I need to mount a dash cam and then make a compilation of driving here. It is crazy and super unsafe....but they all drive the same way and expect others to not follow the rules...so somehow it works. I'm just driving as they do.
@@ProWalks No worroes Robert. TY for replying. I really enjoy your tours and this tour lets us seemuch more in a shorter time than the walking tours (which have their own special qualities.)
@@ProWalks Paris is another terrible place to drive a car. I left my car in an underground parking lot and just used the Paris subways to get around and parking your car at street level is sometimes being lucky to find an empty spot.
Seems like a great way to tour around the city. I am fascinated by ebates but I really can’t justify getting one to tour around my tiny little Montana town. Thanks for taking us around Naples. - Henry
Complimenti hai girato mezza Napoli. Io sarei ancora ricoverato.
Nice to see that double bicycle lane in the beginning, nice vid, watched it all. That one sigh at the end, lolz. Cant wait to see more, please keep it up! ;-)
Beautiful video, thanks! I'm from Naples but I didn't know via Minucio Felice, never been there. It's very interesting I'll go there. I live in Vomero district, close to Via Paisiello
@@ProWalks , Vomero is an important district on the hill , San Martino Charterhouse and Sant'Elmo Castle are in Vomero. San Martino is also an important museum of City of Naples.
So you watched while on a stationary bike? What did you think? To many turns and quick movements? I am still trying to figure out how to film them best. I think i need to ride slower and keep the turns to a minimum.
I don't know the numbers, but i think there are probably more mopeds here. That is definitely the best way to get around. I'd get one but I don't want to pay the high insurance. An ebike is the next best thing.
I LOVE IT😍😍😍 Thank you so much for doing this. I would never be able to drive as steady as you do. It actually gives me some anxiety sometimes...because my view is so realistic. TOTALLY AMAZING
Awesome video. Fascinating and really good to see so many people out and about again. One for the history books! Love the bike too. We get to see so much of Napoli. Does this mean we will have ProRides as well..?
