Awesome place. Classic Route 66 roadside attraction! Just noticed that the artist passed away back in June, but his sons are reported that they will continue to maintain the place.
If you stay on this road you'll come to an interesting and surprising little community called Helendale. Legend has it that Lockheed engineers built the place to escape to when L.A. was nuked by the Russkies. The Burlesque Hall of Fame used to be out there in the boonies. This road is the "scenic route" to Barstow.
Actually that would be a good video to do, things to see while driving from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. Done that trip a few times and it would be interesting to see things you could do/ visit whilst driving through to break the journey up a bit. The only things I really have seen along the way is the world biggest thermometer in Baker & Peggy Sue’s 50’s diner in Yermo
In Watson Lake, Yukon, Canada there is a signpost forest... Seems these forest things are pretty popular. Maybe someday a real forest will be a tourist attraction too Lol
It's 10 miles from the 15? I thought it was just off the freeway, I don't think I'd wanna drive 10 miles out of my way just to look at some bottles though, but hey that's just me.
It's 10 miles off the I-15.. but it's only like a 15 minute detour.. I think it's worth the stop for something fairly unique. Especially since it's free
