My father worked at Slab Fork Coal (I think from sometime in the 50's) up until it went bankrupt in 1983!! I was a coal miner's daughter - that is how I had bread & butter on the table growing up. Annie65H WoW! That was chocked full!! MacArthur - my hometown. A lot of places are still there - Darnell Furniture, MacArthur Skating Rink (but I guess they are not playing disco, Glen Campbell's Rhinestone Cowboy or the Bee Gees anymore - unless it is oldies night LOL! Sometimes after church on Sunday nights - it was a treat to ride in the back of my dad's car from our church in Crab Orchard - all the way to Wendy's in Beckley - I see Wendy's is still there. Thank you for the trip down memory lane! I appreciate it!
Annie65H I need to come up with a way to show the commercials I taped from WOAY in the mid to late 90's. The VCR ran on a timer while I was away from home. Mr and Mrs. Darnell are still at it. I see them on their TV commercials from time to time. Family Matters ran at 4 PM on weekdays in syndication back in the day. I'm still nuts about that show.
