This trip begins going southbound on PA 54 and then turns westbound onto PA 254. The area that this trip goes through is an area whose economy is based on light manufacturing and farming. This North Central Central Susquehanna Valley area of Pennsylvania is a pleasant region which is often overlooked in my opinion. I believe that it is overlooked because it is not a population center. Although it is not an area of big incomes it always seemed to have enough to keep it going. There are several technical training schools along with Penn State University nearby and five other four year colleges. The area is a rather scenic area of valleys and mountains. The area is not isolated, Interstate 80 connects the area with locations to the east and to the west and US 15 connects the area with locations to the north and the south. This trip was in Montour and Northumberland Counties.
