Literally rented a car off you today (following these tips and tricks) didn't realize it was you at first until later whilst driving the car 😂 thank you very much for this video. Anyone wanting a reliable rental go see this man
Really comprehensive, useful, and professional. Plus a lovely touch to help people whether they hire with you or otherwise. I wish I'd seen something like this when I first drove abroad.
Excellent vlog. Clear & concise information for anyone wanting to drive in Tenerife. Very useful. I’m driving over there for the last 22 years & I still hate that roundabout in Los Cristianos. I do think the standard of driving has improved over the years. Another thing when it comes to parking, don’t park blocking the pedestrian crossings. I’ve seen cars being towed from them & rightly so!! Well done!! I know a lot of people have been asking for this. Gutted for you that you had to do it again but well worth it. 👍👍👍
Thank you Andrew, really nice part again, you do wonderful videos about Tenerife. Deffenately car from you when need one. Those fast power cars are nice, but not so handy in discover places without fear for crash or accident about first time drivers. Now in Finland there is Ford Mustangs coupes in driving school cars, not sure how they suites in purpose, but so far so good. Hope to be in Tenerife south in future. Lee's beer waiting, hope u enjoy as well. Take care. Greetings. 🏁👍😉
Great advise Andrew. I know a lot of people who won’t hire a car because they are too nervous about different rules etc. But you just about covered everything, thanks. Xx
Thank you for the advice and guidance. We always take the full insurance and would recommend this to everyone... And the end of the day nobody plans for an accident and we drive on the opposite side of the road.
Driving can be hairy but I’ve got used to it over the years. Give it a go. Once you get out of the main resorts it’s the same as driving anywhere except you are on the opposite side of the road. 👍👍
Superb review, highly informative & Crystal clear explanation of rules & regs references do’s & don’ts, I’ll be moving to Tenerife when I retire in 2 years time, so will sure look you up in case I need a set of wheels, keep up the great vids & take care, regards Gary⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great vlog! glad it worked this time! first time I drove over in Tenerife I found the direction arrows on the road handy but like you say you get used to it🚗👍🏻
Just come across the video as I am planning to hire a car next month in Puerto de la Cruz. Some good advice for what will be my first time driving a left hand drive car.
Love that bit with the drone following the white car great drone footage Andrew 👌really nice vlog 👍a master at the drone now 🙌 and this is great information about renting cars 🚙 very good information thanks for doing this for us 👍so professional Andrew 👍😊x
Very well done Andrew !! Excellent informative vlog & great professional advice for those hiring a car especially for the 1st time . Glad this one worked out for you 👍👍💕😘
Very informative, especially if you are new to car hire in Spain. Great editing and drone work .. WELL DONE ANDREW .. Have been towed once in Nerja and not a great experience
Your best vlog yet mate imo. I'll be watching this one again. Never driven away from home before as I always love to enjoy the few beers while I'm on holiday. Also a bit worried about the do's and don'ts of driving abroad. This vlog takes a lot of the worry out. A little knowledge goes a long way. The wonderful drone footage was perfectly placed too. Very professionally done. Almost as if you'd had a practice run or something... lol.
I've driven abroad a lot but your video was spot on and informative mate, you say not easy to film but it didn't come across as if it was hard to film, excellent job, power out put of engines also drops as your attitude increases as less oxygen for combustion. Another strider information vlog 😅 Look forward to your next one😎
Thanks Andrew, very useful info. Coming out next week and I’m just about to hire my car from you, nice to know that you’ll give me 10% discount Do your cars come fully insured with no hidden extras or excesses?
Excellent Vlog Andrew. Thanks. I've driven abroad a lot, but not in Tenerife. I found the parking and general road rules there really useful. I will definitely be looking to hire a car from you on my next visit. Thanks again and hopefully see you later this year
Great Vlog. Thanks for the Information. I've got very close to hiring a car in Tenerife a few times but decided against it at the last minute because I wasn't sure of the roads. I was in a taxi going to Santa Cruz and the driver started talking on his mobile at 120kph on the motorway very close to a small van that put me off a bit too.
Well done with this vlog. Spot on information. I do drive over there but for anyone nervous or reluctant, you have made it look very straightforward. I would definitely recommend hiring a car & getting out there. Take your time & if you miss your turn or exit just remember you can turn around & go back. You might need to to double your fleet of hire cars now!!
Very informative as for parking it can be difficult in las America’s reguarding car crime we have had wipers and wheel trims stolen actually caught someone at tejita car park stealing wipers from the rear window
Google maps can be download to your phone and you can use the map offline and save on data costs. I did that the last time I rented in Lanzarote and it worked perfectly.
Excellent work guys, I have driven in Tenerife & you are right it's not as daunting as it at first seems - some great information about parking etc - respect the GRUA - I am sure you will agree ! Great little vlog mate.
Hello, We’ve enquired for a car two days ago. How long will it take for the company (Sanasty) to answers us? We need the car for the beginning of November. Thanks in advance.
Hi there! Sorry we are dealing with around 70 enquiries a day at the moment which has crashed our website 3 times this week. Please call us or message on Facebook instead please
A another great video if all works out i should be in Tenerife in July being fully vaccinated. comimg from usa and gong to other countries overseas, i needed a International drivers licence to drive. But you didnt mention that in your video. hope to see you soon.
Hi Andrew, very informative. UK licence holders will need the International Licence to drive in Tenerife in the future due to the third country rule after the UK left the European Union. The same rule's apply here in the Irish Republic.
Definitely but its nothing major! Some people moaning but its £5 and quick to obtain, i had to get one for my Spanish license to drive in USA and it was more expensive and more paperwork👍🏽
@@TheKnightStrider . Why did you have to get one in USA ? Believe me, you were robbed. You don't need it at all. Just make sure, you bring yours and that's it. I did rent and drive in Spain with my California License without any issue and as well in many other countries. Something is wrong with you guys.
Very handy video to watch thank you. We have booked car hire from you in october (David Taylor) My hubby has blue disabled badge, when parked in a blue bay can we park there all day or is it limited time??
Very nice vlog, thank you for sharing! I would add however, the roundabout trouble you are having may be caused to different driving rules in roundabouts around the world. Where I am from, what you did in the video is not allowed. If you are in the first lane, that is used for exit, you can skip the first exit but you must take the second one or change the lane to the 2nd one, then change again to use exit 3 and above. That is done so that people using the roundabout can exit on two lanes together in exits (two cars can exit in parallel if the road has two lanes) without fearing to collide. So, if you are driving towards the 3rd exit on the first lane, then yes, it will appear that someone is cutting you off, but that is because you were supposed to exit right there.
That was really useful, thank you for putting that together. Interesting point re engine size, I’ve always noticed that ‘hot hatches’ e.g GTI are a far less common sight abroad. A question I had was that I have seen an orange flashing filter light on the traffic light 🚦 in Spain i.e with a left/right arrow. Does that mean you can proceed if clear ? Only thing that I would have liked to have seen would have been requirements/procedures if you break down, e.g do you have to put a high vis on etc ? Breaking down is my worst nightmare in the UK let alone driving abroad ! 🙈😂
Very informative, nice work! With the motorway do you have to give way when merging onto it? I've seen cars queuing up to try and get onto the motorway in the past. Also do you know which side you're meant to drive for the crawling/slow lane when you're on steep inclines, my senses tell me right hand side lane, but I've seen people going slow in the left hand lane and fast in the right hand lane? Hope that makes sense :-)
Hi Andrew, brilliant blog really informative 😊 just read that you need the driving license with a photograph I have got the old fashioned paper license are these acceptable Thankyou
Thank you so much, i was very scared of renting a car abroad but after watching your video i want to be more confident and fully enjoy this expérience. I will visit your site and come in July! Thank you so much for giving me the confidence
Great video, aren't there other quirks like not being allowed to have your elbow out the window. Not that I'd wash a rental manually, but aren't there rules about washing cars on the street?
One thing you didn’t mention is, heaven forbid, if you have an accident or break down. The breakdown I assume you phone the hire company, but what about out of office hours? What about accidents? Police? Insurance?
Depends on who you hire with! We have a 24 hour english speaking emergency line for breakdowns and accidents, many others dont..all depends on the company and the level of insurance you pay for
@@TheKnightStrider Thanks. Good to know. That’s the sort of information you need when choosing a hire company, just in case. Never had an accident with a hire car but I had a faulty one in Costa del Sol. Was grounded all day on the Sunday and then had to drive from Puerto Banus to Malaga with the heater on full as it was overheating. Very uncomfortable. They replaced the car. Also had a car in Tenerife which jumped out of second when going downhill. Driving hairpins down a mountain with one hand, using the other to hold it in gear was fun 😀
Hi Mate, If I can only drive an automatic at home in the U.K.? Does that apply in Spain/EU as well? As I have an code which is 78 on my driving license? Can I hire an automatic?
