Oh my! You took me past my old home on John Knox Street, and past my grandparents old home on Barns Street. Didn't see any sign of Whitecrook Public School. Did I miss it? Elgin Street School has been razed, I see, but you also took me past St. James's Parish Church where I went to Girl Guides (is that church still in use?) and past The Episcopal Church where my grandparents got married. What a shame to let that lovely building go unused and rotting. Most other things I didn't even recognize! Great video. Thanks for making and post it.
great video, I stumbled onto you by watching the Blitz videos of 1941, my dad lived in Scott st Dalmuir , my mother from Oban. Growing up we lived in Dickens Ave, moving to Barns St when I was 9. I worked in the design drawing office at Yarrows and after seeing job opportunities in Australia i went for an interview and got a job at 21 years of age. I emigrated to Australia in 1981, never thinking I would stay there I thought a couple of years maybe?? My dad was 14 when the blitz took place, he would tell many stories some fun others not so
Great vid. Used to live in Clydebank near the town hall a few years back. The new houses at the end of John Knox street have certainly come on and look great.
