and at 2:50 - the guys wrist is laying on the top of the piling and 6 inches beneath the boom attachment! one bump of a control lever and that hand would be pinched off.
It's a blinder haha No harness anywhere love the ladder No hi vi maybe a hand rail somewhere perhaps but apart from all of that h and s aspect its excruciating to watch So slow and haphazard mind you I suppose its cheap until it goes wrong
Wrong scab, as an Operating Engineer, I work with Dockbuilders daily, and these clowns are not dockies. I can guarantee you somebody got seriously injured before this job was done.
No, I was a union member IUOE. This has municipal job writing all over it!🤣 Hudsonhawks got it right. People don't know real Union workers, they think municipal employees are what union looks like. WRONG!
It's not a plate compacter although a plate compacter may achieve the same ends. It is a purpose-built vibrating mechanism used to drive piles more quickly. First time I saw it in action I couldn't believe it. They were using it to drive huge I-beams into frozen ground. Like a hot knife through butter. Amazing!
It's quite common in Holland. But they run counter rotating eccentric vibrators, essentially the same internals as a proper piling hammer but more interchangeable for different piling. Admittedly, this isn't that. That's just a compactor plate contrary to what another comment says. Absolute shit show
Running a bolt and nut on every lift??? NEWS FLASH>> Leave a chain connected to the lift. Cut a T slot in the top of the towers then simply run the chain in the T slot ! NO bolts washers and "NUTS" I watched it for 5 min. and could recommend all kinds of things that would speed up this construction. Cut at least 75% of the time needed. Unbelievable waste of time doing it like they are. One tower at a time??? How about pre built sections!!!!
RE-name video to watching paint dry.....................and then I read the other comments and 100% of you said it before I did. I need a nap after watching this. Brutal
Are all these guys new to this type of work i think not they must be contractors getting paid by the hour. Thank our lucky stars they never built the empire state building because king kong would have been dead decades before these blokes built it no wonder the countries in a mess and yep it only took just over 400 days to build the empire state building
If it was my job to fasten the sheets to the crane thingy, I would want to know the operator had his hands and feet well clear of the controls. Fingers !!!.
you probably dont give a damn but does someone know a method to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb lost my account password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me
@Frank Aldo thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
I don't know why they using a system like that. It's slow , labour intensive and primitive. I work for meso solutions. Have a look on RU-vid how we instal sheets.
I wonder if their hearing got blown out. Not enough protection, especially the way they wore the ear muffs. Where was OSHA on this job, all kinds of unsafe stuff done here.
Holy Shit that's old ,slow, and not the right setup. Feel sorry for the guys. If at least they had a better ,easier connection to the modified vibrator plate. Poor buggers. Can't do fast work if you don't have the iron.
Get a decent ladder already. Good way to loose a hand, then got a kick out of that guy waving up and down with his hand, like it wasn't obvious the driver guy couldn't see what was going on.
Can you share a link of the real deal stuff like they have around Lake Michigan in Chicago? I don't know where to begin looking I need this at my home thanks
