That's right! Before indicator look inside mirror, outside mirror and blind spot. so 1, 2 and 3. And repeat watching your mirrors while you look ahead! Then you always know what's going on around you

You have to look (inside, outside, shoulder) before turning on the indicator, before moving (maneuvering) (inside, outside, shoulder), and after you've done something (inside mirror). Think like this: 1. Is it safe to move now? (check mirrors to see) 2. CAN you move now? (check mirrors to see) 3. Is everybody okay after you moved? (check mirrors to see)
