This video helped me so much - especially the tip around speed limits. I watched it twice last night before I took my test today. Just finished the test with zero faults - no majors or minors. And I don't think I could have done it without the tips on this video.
Passed my test today at Hither Green. I watched your videos over and over again. Great videos, tips and instructions. Thank you very much Francis!!!!!!
@@DrivingSchoolTV Thanks a lot. It was alright I had my test at 9:07am. It started picking up after independent driving. 75% of the roads in your drive in this video were on my test route today. Your videos massively helped, only 3 minors.
Thank you for this video, it's so helpful. I have my 3rd test in a few weeks and I'm praying that I pass!! My first 2 tests were in Belverdare which is one of the worst places to do a driving test, the pass rate is so low and I didn't know. I'm feeling confident about the Hither Green roads.
@@radikhakour5119 passed first time 🥳 even tho it was 2 days before christmas + in rush hour. The examiner was lovely we just drove and talked for the whole time
I had my test on Thursday and most of the roads I went on was 20mph for a while then 30mph and back to 20mph which was really good as like you said it gives you more time to think and plan ahead! It actually calmed me down as the other roads were dual carriageways so was a relief to go slower whilst my nerves were all over the place 😂
@@DrivingSchoolTV I took my test at Erith test centre and passed 1st time on Thursday :) I'm so happy the examiner isn't as bad as people make out to be we had a lovely chat on my test. It went by so quick I felt like I was only on the road for 5 mins 😂
Congraaaaats!!! It's really not as bad as people make out is it! but i guess it's the few horror stories that stick in your mind. What's your first car gonna be??
@@DrivingSchoolTV thankyou so much! Oh no it wasn't half as bad as I thought it would of been. From the moment I met the examiner he was so friendly and we also had a laugh a few times 😂 when I was at red lights mainly and 20mph roads. He looked so relaxed in the passenger seat which made me feel so at ease too. Considering how I felt to start with. I found the test alot easier than my lessons put it that way 😂 I already have my own car. Fiat 500 my husband purchased it as an incentive to pass my test as I have put it of to long now as I'm nearly 40 so a late learner well a full uk licence holder now 😁
I have taught both daughters and am thankful for your video. The area is low speeds and humps but this is perfect for newbies. Thanks again. Your allowed that minor. 😊
Thanks so much for this! I've got my test on Thursday, I failed first time so hoping that this will bring me the little bit of confidence and local knowledge needed! (Have been practicing the big roundabouts lots)
I recently found your videos, and I’m blown away by your enthusiasm. I’d definitely feel comfortable with you in the car, you seem very reassuring. I live very far away though (North Wales), and I haven’t even started learning to drive. I’ve been going out with my dad to secluded areas to learn though. I don’t know how to get a provisional license, do you mind directing me to a website? That would be perfect, hopefully I should be getting on the road soon, life’ll be so much easier :)
Aww shame you’re so far! Your dad sounds great though taking you out but make sure next time he takes you that you have a provisional license and some learner insurance 😊 www.gov.uk/apply-first-provisional-driving-licence
The mistake was you signalling too early just before the junction which can mislead a driver behind you into thinking your turning right into the junction instead of pulling up on your right🤷🏻♀️
great video! your enthusiasm is just great and the commentary is really insightful. I'm having issues booking a practical test on the government website. Is this something that can be sped up?
dj Kevin Red fire Sound ahh sorry to hear that Kevin!! Hopefully you've learned a few things and you are now familiar with the driving test so it'll be a lot easier next time! Have you booked again??
Haha every video I've seen shows the car taking a right turn out of the test centre, when I went left on my test it threw me off a bit, still passed though!
@@DrivingSchoolTV Its such a tragic story- Your video helped me get only 2 minors, but in the end i messed up my emergency stop! 😂 But yeah thanks so so much for the helpful stuff here, I'm sure I'll pass next time
@@DrivingSchoolTV In the moment, my brain muddled up (presumably because I was doing so well beforehand and panicked a bit) and i lifted my foot off the accelerator in order to press the brake, but instead i mashed the accelerator with the clutch down and just revved a lot
Hi I'm taking my test in Hither green soon and I'd love to take lessons with you, I loved your style for teaching. If you're still teaching here can you please tell me how to contact you? Thanks!
For your manovere did you indicate before a right junction that you passed then pulled up so other people would think your turning right into that road?
Hey Ifeoma! That downhill road i pulled up on is a bit of a bend i was just trying to keep close to the kerb. It's unlikely the examiner will pull you over on a bend!
Hi, was your mistake a misleading signal when you were pulling up to the right but you put your signal on before a junction? Also, when you were entering Clifton's you were in the right hand lane to turn right but when you entered the roundabout you pulled into the middle lane - is that allowed? I thought that we should pull into the right hand lane and gradually peel out?
Good luck dash! There's nothing super challenging! Only stuff you will have practiced 100 times with your instructor already ☺️ let us know how it goes!!
Yes the road restrictions are really annoying but i think they block off most of the tricky narrow streets. Congrats!! You must be so pleased that's a really good score!
Hey Francis 👋. Its imam here I recently moved to hither Green area.i failed my driving test in goodmayes with manual car this week. Now I have booked another test at hither Green.how is this area and can I book a mock test with you ?please let me know.thank you
Best of luck at Hither Green!!! We're pretty full with mock tests at the moment but if you find a regular instructor thats local they should be able to show you around.
I didn’t see the mistake what was it? Also when coming back into the test centre and taking the left to go in do you have to go into first gear or can you go in second gear and just slow down
lol you’ll have to watch again to spot the mistake. Something around the manoeuvre 😉 I’d recommend first gear speeds for the left back up the test centre slip road because it’s really tight if another car is coming down but if you’re really in control in second then that’s ok. You’re not in a rush though!
@@DrivingSchoolTV thank you and lol is it because the place where you did the manoeuvre there was those island things in the road so it wasn’t a good place?
@@DrivingSchoolTV the roundabout you exited on the 3rd can change the lane to the left when I am exiting the roundabout or it’s ok to stay the right and change later the to the left
Hi there! Thank you for the excellent video! I actually also have a question re: Clifton's (in the video c.16:35). You have entered the roundabout from the right hand lane, and seem to have ended up in the middle lane straight away. Isn't one supposed to stay in the right hand lane for a bit?
@@lilijaoblecova6973 THIS is a REALLY good question! I'm not a fan of the road markings on this roundabout at all. They aren't simple to follow and they're also very faded. The right lane on approach says A20/ A205 and the lane I enter on the roundabout says only A20 but if you follow that lane on the roundabout, it spirals outwards and perfectly takes to to the 3rd exit. I've seen it done and also done it where you use the inside lane on the roundabout but then you have to cross a lane on the roundabout to exit. If you complete the roundabout safely then you'll pass your test doing it either way so good mirror checks all the way round!
Hi! I’m watching your video. I have been doing my lessons in Basildon, Essex. So entirely different. I have drove in Hither Green before at all and have my test there on the 8th September. Has anyone got any tips for me please!! X
Hey Gracie that's a long way to come for a driving test! Top tips: be good at width restrictors and big busy roundabouts but on the whole it's a very residential area with a lot of 20 limits (that look like 30mph roads) so don't worry too much. Be confident and give your best drive 😊
Any idea what manoeuvre is most popular at hither green? The car park is very tight so I feel like there would be a low chance of reverse bay park. Please let me know 😬
