area859 120k I had some issues recently pressing the gas on incline freeway entrance and it wouldn’t go faster then 60mph but it was the type of gas I was using so I switched to Chevron Techron and added and additive
I'm looking at 2002 for my grand daughter's first car. She's a junior next year and only will be driving literally 0.4 mi to school. Would you mind passing your opinion? The car I'm looking at has 98000 mi. I'm a long time Lexus customer so I'm not concerned about excessive repairs, and I'm a repeat customer from the seller. Just wondered what you think.
I own this car in indigo blue with saddle interior and the compliments never stop. Exceptional design and Luxury. It is a good rare and highly coveted luxury convertible.
Got a silver 04 sc430 with only 78,000 miles, it rides like a dream even today, garage kept , smooth as heck . The stereo is awesome even with the top down.
Yo, bro...there is NO plastic wood trim in this car! That is REAL elegant WOOD. AND...the back seat is for briefcase or groceries (bread, cheese, and wine).
I just bought a red one and had it repainted. The best fun I've ever had driving a car. I really didn't know what quality of a car i have bought and i only paid...i got a great deal. You can try to find something wrong but you would be lying. The best made car in the world. My navigation screen is stuck on tilt and want close and i have to replace the speakers.
Great car, mine has the same interior but is dark blue metallic. Great car, I fitted quality gas shock absorbers and it transformed the ride and handling, the high quality interior is just gorgeous with real wood by Yamaha. Excellent sound system but the original speakers are prone to failure. No one with legs would try to get into the back seat, which was fitted for insurance reasons.
If you think about it, the back seat area allows the front seat to recline backwards a bit, giving you more space. I like to refer to it as a "rear storage area"
Great video, I am looking for a SC for summer 2020. The rear seats are in these types of cars for insurance reasons as its cheaper to insure a 4 seater vs a 2 seater (like the Z4 or TT convertible etc)
Got a silver one 2004 with only 78000, bout to upgrade the stereo with bluetooth and USB, hopefully I get one that retains my doors that open up on the navigation and stereo.
Plastic wood trim? You forgot about one of the best sounding car systems when playing a CD not FM would be the Mark Levinson What about the VSC button which by the way stands for vehicle skid control, and forgot to mention it’s probably one of the most reliable cars ever built.
Plastic wood trim was a joke, actually. Unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to test out the sound system, but perhaps I should have. And yeah, VSC is just stability control which many cars of the era have, so it's nothing special in that area, but the reliability on this car is unparalleled indeed!
@@FinishLineFactory Nope, that isn't plastic wood trim. Lexus doesn't do plastic wood. Although the car was designed in France, the interior was in fact designed by Yamaha Music Corporation of Japan. You know, the makers of pianos and guitars. That's real wood you're looking at.. My 2004 SC430 with 60k on the clock is a terrific car - more of a cruiser than anything else. However, in just having it serviced at a Lexus dealer, its oxygen sensor had melded to the manifold. It had to be drilled off. The bill -- $3200.00. There was no way to get around it because the dash was displaying it VSC/VSC OFF and Engine lights. That being said, I plan on keeping the car for many more years to come. So the cost of repair was painful, but incidental. Overall, it's a great car. Good review!
@@danielchristopherdc SOMEONE ON THE INTERNET WAS WRONG, THAT GIVES ME LICENSE TO BE AN ABSOLUTE UNIT ABOUT IT! DESPITE THE FACT THAT IT'S ALREADY BEEN MENTIONED SEVERAL TIMES, I HAVE TO MENTION IT TOO IN ORDER TO FEEL SECURE IN MY THOUGHTS AND EMOTIONS
A 97-2000 sc300/400 is much sexier. Better lines and just looks more aggresive than this. I would still get one since I'm a huge Lexus fan but look wise the older one is better
Unfortunately this was early into our relationship with the dealership, so I couldn't take it out very far to drive it. I actually don't even have a tag on it lol, but I'm just down the block so it's okay.
