More than 35 year's, both parties kept this road in tight security for their own benefits. Didn't think of the surrounding residence. Because the roads were closed permantly many people sold their houses under value in past years. The new president orders, and the road opens for the public again. The surrounding residence can benefit like travel to the 'Gall Face Green' area within 15 minutes, also, through the duplication road and passing through the liberty rounder boards, they can continue through this road to petta. Traffic jamps will get reduced, and it is time saving, plus people can travel quickly.
you all have forgotten that we had 30years war and closed all these roads due to security reason . Apart from that president CBK attacked by suicide bomber, defense secretary Gotabaya, defense minister Ranjan wijerathna and army commander etc.
@@MpiMovies The 30 year old war finished almost 12 years ago. Also neither CBK or any other attacks didn't happen in their official residences. It's not practical to barricade yourself and live. If one wants to kill you, they will find a way.
Exactly. The war ended in 2009, and still after 15 years they couldn't open these roads citing "security reasons". And remember these are the people who came to power with the pledge of ensuring national security. Apparently they themselves were not very confident about their own security even, let alone national security.
It’s amazing what the NPP has achieved in so short a time. Looks like they are here to look after the people of this country. They are making life easy for the poor. The President & the Prime Minister are great humans.may they be blessed in all they do.

Yes, little bit to those who want to go towards Galle Face coming from Ananda coomaraswamy mw, without waiting in St Michaels junction. It's a Galle road priority junction where the cops keep you waiting for a long time.

@@HubbunNabiGroup they just havent thought to remove it , sri lanka have 1000 more very big problems than this (this is not a problem this is a very small little development 😂 thts all) And also even though the war ended, still security threats might appear. Anyways it is a good thing to open the road, but not very very big development or something to talk about
