4:33 the reason that the trucks in eroupe are cab overs is the that the lenght limit is with the truck and the trailer in europe so they use cab overs to fit more storage in the trailer while in the US the length limit only restricts the trailer meaning the truck can be as long as possible. hope this helps camodo.
12:15 The mere fact that you have vehicle weight on the non-driven axle that you should be lifting and the gearbox isn't in manual should cost you a life 😅 After the reset, the lifting axle was up again, so things worked much better than before. well, to the stone that threw you down the mountain
It's based on the large Scania trucks. That one is a (6x4/2) single power axle config, which is common in Europe. So only the middle axle is powered, you need to lock the diff and lift the rear axle to get traction. The rear axle is only there for load capacity. In Australia we get both the US and European trucks.
@CamodoGaming This is btw based on the newest Scania in real life. The best and most powerful commercial truck in the world with a 16-Liter V8 that pumps out 770hp and a massive torque of 3700 Nm (2,720 ft lbf).
We have long noise because in Europe there is a 53 foot truck and trailer limit we have a 53 foot trailer limit so our trailer cannot be over 53ft or it is considered oversized
Back in the 70s, cabovers were very common in the U.S. due to strict length laws that dictated how long a truck chassis could be. Cabovers were more popular with trucking companies because with the cab sitting over the engine, the truck would have a shorter wheel base, allowing more space for more cargo, which meant more money for the companies. But the cabovers weren't as safe, they were harder to work on, and were not as comfortable for drivers. Once the trucking industry got de-regulated, cabovers quickly fell out of popularity. Nowadays, North American trucks prioritize comfort since their drivers tend to travel longer distances on wide highways, whereas European trucks not only travel shorter distances, but they also face size restrictions and narrower roads.
You should play Europa truck simulator would love to see a series of that mostly it's because America truck simulator seen all of the videos that you made I'm not really really like those so I want some more of those kind of things maybe I'm a little bit needy of that but it's so a freaking fun time, I try watching other simulators that you did But the doesnt scratch the itch , Like america truck simulator did lately yes it's been this weekend I've been watching it only. What's up have a freaking fun time with that
Comodo, if you were living out of your truck, like North American (USA/CAN/MEX) truck drivers do, you'd want our conventional cab trucks, as they have considerably more living space inside than the Euro trucks have.
The reason American trucks are bigger is comfortabolity America's larger than most other countries that use cabovers So, comfartability, i.e., having bigger sleepers, is a must. Demand truck drivers in america generally like the American style trucks Part availability is a lot easier to find parts for vehicles that are commonly used, lowering repair costs. Need cabovers are great for manuevaribilty, but a lot of America is highway, and we have much larger rodes, so just no real need anymore for them. Laws are different in other countries on how to measure the length of the vehicle. (How road legal your truck is) Pre i believe 1980s in America and most countries today they measured the length of your vehicle from trucks front to your trailers back. America changed to instead to where they only now measure from trailers front to trailers back. There is also just customer demand. Americans like bigger engines and tend to want bigger vehicles to take a 67 Mustang over your mother's minivan. What would you rather drive? Most men would say the Mustang. The majority of truck drivers in America are men. So they prefer the more "cool" version rather than the more economical, less attractive vehicle. Cus you want to be proud to own whatever you're driving. That combined with familiarity and comfortability. And the needs you have (load, roadway, fuel efficiency etc..) It's not based on engine stats but how they perform on American roadways Is why in America we don't do cabovers for longhaulers. Cabovers are more common densely populated or in municipal or short distance hauling. Trash trucks.
Maybe someone already covered this, but there's some reasons cabovers are extremely rare in the U.S. Part of it is simply based on their looks. Most drivers want their truck to look more macho. Another part is because until relatively recently, they rode REALLY rough! They also have very little storage space, which makes them not the best choice for OTR drivers who aren't home every few days or weekend. There is also the belief that they are less safe in a crash due to there being so little between you and whatever you hit. Also, sleeping on top of the engine sucks. The primary reason they went away though, is because old restrictions were lifted. There used to be strict limits on the full truck/trailer length. The two could be any length, as long as they fell under that limit when combined. Eventually they changed it to where there's just a hard limit on the trailer length (without permits anyway). So now most non-specialized cargo is hauled in a 53 foot trailer with a tractor of whatever size you want. There's a couple states with max length wheelbase limits from the 5th wheel (where the two couple together) to the trailer axle, but that's about it. TL;DR Cabovers are mostly gone because they just don't have much of a purpose with the way our infrastructure is designed.
I’ve been watching Komodo since late 2016, early 2017 I’d say maybe mid 2017 but if there are any viewers from around when he started his channel like the comment Edit: no, I don’t want likes for attention
Europe trucks with a smaller turning radius, allot more horsepower, and the sleeper is smaller because they are not out as long is my understanding. Conventional US trucks don't need the turning radius, they didn't need the same horsepower and the condo sleeper average 72" because we stay out 2+ weeks in the short side to months so we need larger trucks to compensate. On a side note, for a real challenge, overload the trailer, and drop the axle and that will be a true challenge. Also, the drives are likely the forward axle so dropping the axle while bobtailing it with a light trailer screws up the physics.
European truck have to be COE because they have to keep under a total length. That includes the trailer in the total. The USA use to have a rule like this that’s why lots of 60s and 70 trucks r COE. But in the 80s they got ride of the rule.
A lot of reasons why the European style truck is not used much in the US. Firstly, the US model has better aerodynamics which is better for longer hauls which is done the US. Also Euro trucks tend to not have sleeping compartments like American ones do. So realistically American trucks are better for longer hauls while European ones are better for shorter hauls.
The cab tilt control is hidden behind an exterior panel between the grill and left door. How to open that panel I don't know, but Neilogical discovered that control box when that particular panel got ripped off, in his introduction video for the Segra truck series. How it is normally opened was, unfortunately not confirmed at that time. My theory is there is a button, inside, somewhere, that opens that exterior panel. If not inside the cab, then maybe when the grill is opened a release is found inside radiator bay. Unfortunately, I can't confirm either possibility.
I'm very surprised this euro truck did very well on this map, as well as getting to the end of that road! Not an easy thing to do though 😲 At the dirt section with that hill, I would assume changing the driving mode to realistic would help as the truck you used had a lot of power. With momentum, adjustments to the suspension and the differential, it barely made it 🤔
european trucks are mainly cab overs because the thight turns/roads and that the journey's arent as long as american styled trucks, American Styled truck (nose trucks) Are so big to be comfortable for the driver that may drive a couple of days in a row to get to 1 destination, While europeans mainly stay in their own country wich on average isnt as big as usa.
@CamodoGaming your rear most axle is a dead axle, it has no power to it, when its down it makes drag which is not good for the drive axle when trying to climb hills, technically the dead axle should only be down when hauling a heavy load to disperse the weight so it doesn't damage roads
its most designed for the roads in that region, america has vastly wider roads compared to Eu, an American truck would struggle getting around the uk lol, some of the roads we have, our Eu version can even struggle at times + looks
having the engine block in front of the driver is a nice protective layer. id imagine we have big bulky trucks because truckers dont like losing their legs from a dumbass driver.
The reason America has long nose trucks is because they are more comfortable for long distances and Europe’s trucks are cabovers because they are better at maneuvering through the small roads and corners
On the 3 axle truck the rear axle is a tag-axle only. On the 5-axle (the cab was ripped off of, the middle rear axles are drive, the first and last rear are steerable tag axles.
You might think this is impossible, but in many remote parts of southern China where mountains are as high as this and roads are the same as on this map, there are these Euro-style trucks trucking on them all the time, and sometimes it will snow which makes the road even harder.
you actually can push the whole cab forward. there is a button inaccessible from the seat in the little groove by the drivers seat that you need to access from next to the truck.
The reason you wasted your last lives on that one part of the road is because you keep hitting a rock there so therefore the euro style truck is not designed for that section cause it's a bit wide. I'm just saying.
I think cab overs was discontinued cuz of road accidents and without the long nose there isn't much protection for the driver and in Europe some routes have small streets so drivers need more clearance and stuff so yeah 👍
As said lower in comments there styled like that for better turning but the reason we have bigger trucks is because we haul heavier freight in the states I’m a truck driver and drive a freightliner cascadia I haul bread literally loaves of bread and even that can get heavy with a full trailer
There is a legit reason why the truck is made like this. There is a maximum length that the truck +trailer can be. To carry more goods they placed the motor somewhere else so it doesnt stick out, with that u can carry like a meter more goods = more money
american trucks has the long nose so they can put a bigger engine cuz american roads are usually straights while euro have that shape cuz they european roads have a lot of turns so the euro trucks are better at roads with a lot of curves and americans are better for long straight highways
You can actually do it untill the waterfall with the Box trailer. At the warterfall, the trailer gets stuck on a tree. A flatbet allowes you to go beyond.
Hi camodo i love your chaanel really what is the best game for you cause i want to become a youtuber consle game or moblie hope you respond and is fortnite good to post on youtube and is it a good job hope you respond bye
if you fall off a cliff or crash into something really hard then that should count as a death but if u reset then that should count as a learning experience
