A good but VERY incomplete video. It showed nothing of the more scenic parts of Ames: Lincolnway through Campustown, Ada Hayden Lake and park, Arrasmith Trail, Oakland Hill, the historic buildings on the Iowa State University campus. I could go on. Ames IS a beautiful town, as some viewers have noted, but this vid didn't even show the really beautiful parts of it.
My husband and I are looking to relocate when I retire in a few years. We've decided on Iowa and I'm researching different cities/towns. May I ask, do you live in Ames? You make it sound delightful! I'm also looking into Cedar Rapids, Dubuque and possibly Cedar Falls.
@@kayelane5868 I DO live in Ames. I was born and raised here, left when I was 18 (military). After living on both coasts and overseas, I've moved back to Ames. This is a good place to live! It IS a medium-sized (50K pop. approx) midwestern town, and not always terribly exciting, but the quality of life is great. Low crime, nice people, good location. From Ames it is a matter of a few hours drive from Omaha, Kansas City, Chicago, Minneapolis/St.Paul. A day's drive to Denver & St. Louis. Home of ISU and the education/intelligence level of the folks here is high.
@@TheBuckStopsHere480 I appreciate your taking the time to respond and providing the information. As I continue to research, Ames is getting higher on the list. 👍
That would be a very long video. For it's population of only about 215,000 Des Moines is incredibly spread out. The city proper covers a bit over 90 sq. miles.
