We drove from Jaipur, through Sikar, Chirawa, Jhunjhunu, Pilani and finally reached Vinod's ancestral village near the Haryana border. On the way we stopped at a temple and had a small picnic. We also got some sweets from a famous sweet shop - Lalchand Pedawala. I got to see camels and many other animals on the highway! We spent almost 6 hours on the road and there was endless banter and fun all the way. It was one of the most memorable roadtrips I've had with my Indian family, filled with lots of exciting conversations and learning about the Haryanvi Jat culture.
A little background info - I'm from Finland, married to an Indian man. We live in Kerala. We visited my in laws in Jaipur and celebrated Diwali with them. Since I had never met Vinod's grandparents, we all decided to do a roadtrip to his nani's (maternal grandmother's) village near the Haryana border.
