As a rule, never accept ANYTHING in trip radar. They are always low ball offers even if the payout seems decent. My app is set to auto decline anything under $25/hr and less than $1/mile. I also filter out certain areas. Rides originating or ending in the slums get auto decline. You’re doing it the hard way.

As more drivers arrive at the surge the surge amount goes down

Hey brotha, that was me that commented about surge. In NJ we dont get upfront fares or even upfront destination. So, my concentration is on surge. Taking several factors into account ie, how long ago did the surge pop up, how quickly is it reducing (if at all), how far away I am etc.

Hey! Thanks for sharing how you handle surges in NJ, especially without upfront fares or destinations. Your strategy on timing and distance is smart. It's cool to see how different the approach can be based on location. Keep up the great work and thanks for the insight!

Hey man! Thanks for sharing the earnings at the end. Does the app tell you how many miles you drove? If not, how many miles did you drive this session? I’m thinking of starting in Vegas and curious to know the miles so I can estimate gas mileage. Thanks!

Thanks for watching. On that day I drove 115 miles. If you stay near the strip it would be less.

Does the app aka gps take u to the pick up and drop off at casinos....the uber spot? Some drop me off and said here is your spot it was the light
@BlakeDrives
@BlakeDrives 2 месяца назад
Yeah I'd probably say it does 90% of the time. Sometimes the specific location can be a bit tricky, especially if the designated spot isn't well-marked or if it's a large property with multiple entrances.

@@BlakeDrives I hope you’re having a good day man. My name is Chris, I live in Southern California, specifically, Riverside County, which is near Los Angeles. I believe it’s just a few hours drive from Vegas. I just want to thank you for taking the time and putting in the effort to share your experience and what it’s like, overall being a lift, and Uber, rideshare driver. I will disclose I do suffer from visual impairment, so I have literally no eyesight. I’m sure you may have many questions about what it’s like living with blindness, and it’s something that I don’t have a problem sharing at all. But if I may ask, have you ever picked up a blind or low vision, passenger before, and if so, what was that experience like?
@BlakeDrives

Hey Chris! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch my video and share your thoughts. I actually used to live in Corona, CA, a couple of years ago and have lived in Las Vegas for about a year and a half. To answer your question, yes, I have had the privilege of assisting a blind passenger about a year ago. It was an experience that has stayed with me and shaped the way I look at driving. I tried to be patient, making sure that the passenger felt comfortable and safe from the moment I helped them into the car until we reached their destination. I hope you've had pleasant experiences with rideshare services in your area. Your openness about living with visual impairment is inspiring. If there's anything specific you'd like to share or if you have any questions about my experiences on the road, please feel free to ask. I'm all ears and happy to share.

@@BlakeDrives hello Blake. Thank you so much for taking a moment to share your experience when picking up a blind passenger. It’s very heartwarming to learn that you were able to help them get in the vehicle and making sure that they felt comfortable during the ride. One thing I always do when I request a Lyft, is I make it a personal habit to text and or call my drivers letting them know that I am a passenger with a visual impairment, and need an approach. Which is basically asking that once they arrive at my pickup location, he or she step out of their vehicle and walk toward me, then we confirm each other’s names, and off we go. Sometimes I will either hold onto the driver’s elbow, or just follow them, it really just depends on the environment and the distance to get to the vehicle. Before I put in the request, I also leave a pick up note just describing the color of my clothing of what I’m wearing that day so they know what to look for. If it’s safe to do so, once at my destination, I like to have the driver guide me to the door of the building at public places. If not, I just ask them to give me a description of the outside, layout and where the door is, then I will figure it out from there. On my Lyft account settings, I have a default tip automatically applied to my fare, so I don’t have to worry about remembering to tip my drivers manually, because I believe in showing gratitude to my drivers when they provide excellent service. Last thing I wanna say is what I would think to be a powerful message. Even though we live in such a visual, and what sometimes feels like a cruel dark world, you don’t need to live with eyesight to live a happy, active and successful life. Regardless of your disability, or what society thinks of you because of it, you can accomplish any dream, and any goal you want to achieve, so long as you put your mind and determination into whatever you want to do in life, proving to society otherwise. There’s still lots of good people in this world to help guide you and be there for you in a time of need. We as individuals with disabilities, can still do many things that society says we can’t do, we just do them a bit differently. I can’t share how many times I’ve been told through out my life that I won’t amount too much in life, because of my visual impairment, only to prove to the world otherwise, then having a bunch of wide eyes staring at me with mouths open nearly to the floor, with disbelief, and in some cases amazement because it’s something they’ve never seen before. Mr. Blake, I really hope you come down to visit us again in Southern California in the future, it would be an honor to be your passenger one day, so we can converse and learn more from each other, potentially developing a friendship. You take care of yourself.
