By leaving the hatches and doors open, the Russian soldiers are not being incompetent (at least not in those cases). It’s become increasingly obvious that the soldiers know what they are doing, they are demoralised and are deliberately exposing their armoured vehicles and tanks to be destroyed.

Proving once again that if it were an Olympic sport, the Russians would take gold in the turret toss competition without even having to dope up their tanks.

This is what vatniks have trouble understanding. The "Cope Shed (tm)" offers no meaningful protection. Drones can still hit tracks or the engine to score a mobility kill and then just pummel the tank from all sides until one drone manages to get through... Doesn't matter if the Cope Shed increases the number of necessary drones tenfold to destroy the tank after the mobility kill. The mobility kill is still just as easy to achieve as before and FPV drones are simply way too cheap. Whether you use 10 drones or 100, the tank's value is still several orders of magnitude higher.

Penetrating the front armour is the most difficult yet a drone costing very little can do so 👍🏼🇺🇦🇬🇧💵

I still don’t get how a small shaped charge penetrates the frontal armour of a main battle tank which is primarily designed to stop frontal penetration by armour piercing projectiles from other tanks with sloped, spaced and composite hardened plates.

Pretty amazing these drones are able to deliver bombs big enough to blast through the frontal armor of a tank. Yes, a shaped charge makes a huge difference, but to cut through 700mm or thicker metal, metal that's bend designed (alloy) to be more resistant than most other steels, and carry that on a small battery powered drone that has to infiltrate over a couple kms, loiter to find and select targets, then attack, sometimes at high speed -- these are the game changer weapons of the war Russia launched and Ukraine has fought valiantly to defend. In the case of this particular drone attack on a Russian tank ... I suspect it worked into the gap between the turret and chassis -- if it wasn't able to cut through the blast, between the turret and chassis, would have tended to pop the cork even if it didn't cut all the way through.

Those aren't Russian tanks being blown up. Those are the latest technology rocket powered Russian tanks. Those flames are just the rockets warming up to propel those tanks at 250 miles per hour. There are even super advanced Russian rocket powered tanks that can literally fly!!!

And no one in comments doesn't realize that those tanks might be empty, just because they are standing in middle of nowhere, they engine are stopped. And not even one doesn't resist to apearing drone. 🤷🏻‍♂️

In the game World of Tanks, one of the vehicles, the British FV4005, has long been known as the shitbarn - because it resembles a barn both in size and protective capability, making playing it feel like shit. I've heard the Russian tanks with their cope cages have been nicknamed blyatmobiles, but honestly, calling them shitbarns feels so appropriate.

Unprecise info: These attacks where against staitionary vehicles with open hatches. So the russki crews survived. Thats sad…

One Less For Tomorrow for the hardware, also means less forced conscripts lives lost retrieving the hardware. Those conscripts families will be greatful if their sons, daughters, fathers and mothers get to walk home, rather then ride in a hearse.

The best defense is first and foremost to not get hit. But Russians doubled down on getting hit.

I see open hatch's on some of them so the crew have already abandoned them. At least Putin is not padlocking crews in the tanks like Iran apparently did years ago.

Poor bastards, the worlds military's are learning a lot from this war I think even somewhat humbled there is always a cheap work around to a multi million dollar system. Drones may not fly at supersonic speeds like a missile but very versatile, steerable, and can be precisely directed. Fly a drone into the weak points of the tracks disable the tank, when crew exits tank to effect repairs send one down the hatch.
