Well after watching all your drone fishing videos, I went out & purchased a Phantom 3 for A$200-00. Needed a contoller which I got for $100-00. I've been testing the drone, including dropping baits at our local football park. Nobody around. All being well will take the plunge within the next week at one of the beaches on the Sunny Coast. Thanks for all your advice & tips. Much appreciated. 😊
Thanks mate. That's awesome. Glad that my videos were helpful. I think the phantom 3 is still one of the best value option to get started with drone fishing and outperforms some of the expensive fishing drones. Let us know how you get on. I now mostly use the cloth peg release that I showed in one of my previous videos. It works a charm and is super simple to make.
Thanks man, let us know how you get on. Drone fishing is a ton of fun. I'm currently tinkering around with another DIY tension release. Will be making another vid once I'm satisfied with it.
Good video. Yeah, its all fun and games till you buy a drone and get it over that water! I've flown many baits out and for the best of them and still get nervous every single time. Best from the West, Southern California! Not as easy as you make it seem though. Lets see how long you continue drone fishing. You either keep going and learn from your mistakes or you will stop using a drone and start or continue yaking baits out. Good stuff.
Thanks 👍 yeah can be a bit daunting in the beginning. That's why I prefer using a cheaper drone. Currently a second hand phantom 3. Been drone fishing for a bit over 4 years. Lost my first drone after about 1 year due to stupidity 😆 But I learned from that. You always need to have a weak link to your drone so it can break itself free if something jams. Now I don't have to worry about loosing the drone anymore. Drone fishing is not a silver bullet for every situation. But can't beat it on wide open sandy surf beaches.
Nice video. I want to see or know how you release the bait when dropping to the water. I’m thinking of buying a drone to fish but don’t know what type of model or capacity I need to carry bait. Any tips I appreciated
thanks :) Check out my other video on how I made a simple bait release here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LI9Hz564ZNY.html As for a drone, I like my DJI phantom 3. It has a good load capacity and isn't so expensive anymore second hand. It also has a decent camera. Alternatively you could get a dedicated waterproof fishing drone like the splash drone for example.
Yeah I have thought about it, but it also kinda takes the fun out of fighting the fish and feeling what's going on at the other end of the line. Perhaps some day when I get too lazy to crank the reel, haha.
