Happy you can fly there! Here in Washington DC Metro area so much is shut down that you can't fly in any State, County, Regional or National Park, let alone over the city etc. Unfortunately, your video is exemplary of a very new user, who has neither learned how to fly the drone without jerking it all around, nor the simple fact that quick rotations of viewpoints are very distracting. Unfortunately, the Phantom 2 gimbal simply can not cope with the very ragged flight dynamics. Strongly suggest you try this videography again, taking a lot of caution to SLOW DOWN the aircraft and camera motion. The site is gorgeous, and the video should match.
Bill Malthouse Yeah I know, I'm just a rookie. But I'm getting better. I took an awesome shot recently of my cousin skateboarding and had the drone start behind him about 20 feet in the air and smoothly catch up to him while panning around to face the front of him - all of this while maintaining the same direction.
And yeah, it sucks that DC is a no-fly zone. It's understandable though. Apparently there's a possibility of automated patrol drones flying around the mall area for air scouting.
Glad to hear you are getting better. I need more practice too, but as I said, DC area restrictions and the inability to use parks makes for boring flights. I have even had to use a large empty parking lot where stores have failed, just to get some flying/video experience.
Bill Malthouse If you check out one of my other videos, I go downtown and fly off the rooftops of parking garages. I know you can't do that in DC, but if you ever go to any other big city, I'd recommend trying that. You can get some awesome views around skyscrapers. I also haven't yet tried ground station because I didn't understand a simple task (downloading maps on google maps) so hopefully I'll get to do that soon. I'm bringing the drone overseas this summer to the UK and probably Iceland. That'll make some good views...
