Thank you so much - to The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints for allowing me the privilege of taking these breathtaking images of their very beautiful temple. - A MUST WATCH IN HD!!! #dronelife #mormon #JesusChrist #LDS #BookOfMormon #washingtondctemple #dctemple #LDSChurch #drone
The song playing is "Behind" performed by ATB ft. Flanders - • Video
Although I couldn't change the title within the video itself - I have corrected the name of the church on youtube. Please forgive my error in calling it the Mormon Temple.

I use to think this was a castle when I was a little girl. Every time we drove by I would imagine my fairytale wedding. But seeing it up close like this is breathtaking!
@pfjustham

The weddings that actually take place there are beyond the wildest dreams of any fairy tale. Not just "happily ever after" but rather happily all this life and "for all eternity" with the promise of inheriting "all that the Father hath." www.lds.org

To Sadie, I was married in that fairy-tale temple 37 years ago (anniversary just last month). The Washington Temple does look like a castle rising out of the sky when you are on the D.C. beltway. The temple wedding itself is even more beautiful in meaning and purpose. Mormonism to some is a cult. I simply ignore the detractors. They do not know of which they speak, only of what they have been falsely taught. Our church is named after the Savior, Jesus Christ himself, and we follow His teachings and precepts. The word "Mormon" is a nickname because we believe in the Book of Mormon as well as the Bible (both are testaments of Christ). Tony Collins, thank you for creating such a beautiful beautiful video. Where can I find the words or lyrics to the song?
@SusanPorterflseagrl
@SusanPorterflseagrl 10 лет назад
Susan Porter Tony Collins, I found the lyrics, and you know what, I like to see the good in everything. The lyrics can be perfectly applied. The song talks about leaving behind a broken life that is being lead and coming out into the light of the sun. Everything about the temple inside and out dispels darkness and gives one the light of hope for a life of meaning and purpose. We can all have a knowledge of Christ, a knowledge that life is not just a temporal thing, it is eternal. And families are eternal and can be "together forever." This knowledge is there for the taking to those that honestly seek. Thank you again. Beautiful temple, beautiful video!

A few years ago, a co-worker of mine seemed surprised that I would spend 10% of my earnings on Tithing. I explained it to him like this: "Everybody pays for what they believe in. When a bar owner opens up a new bar, he pays for that bar with money his regular patrons have paid to drink alcohol. Those patrons that go to a bar every week, and I personally know and work with many who do this very thing, often spend 10% of their weekly earnings there on Friday night, drinking. They do it because that is what they believe in and, in a sense, that is their Tithing. When The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints builds a new church, or temple, it pays for that building with money it's faithful members have paid for Tithing. Those members that attend church every week, and I personally know many who do this very thing, spend 10% of their earnings to support the church. They do it because that is what they believe in." I said, "Think about it Jose, when those bar owners build another bar, they are building places where people can go each week, get drunk and leave knowing nothing more than they did the week before. When my tithing money is used to build another church, or temple, we are building a place where people can go to learn principles that will help them live a better life and how to be of service to others. I would rather spend my money to build a place where people can go and learn to live a better life, than to build a place where people go get drunk and learn absolutely nothing." Everybody pays for what they believe in.

Tony I truly enjoyed and was moved to tears by the beauty of the temple. My wife and I were sealed there in 1976, and I went by there in May. When I saw that view from the distance and the light from the temple was almost overwhelming I realized how appropriate the music was. Thank you for a beautiful view of a temple that means a lot to me and my family.

Hi Sara and Gerald!! - It moves me to read your comment. Thank you - thank you - thank you for saying that!!! As I sit here and write this - I am tearing up. I was so scared when I decided to make it that way it is - especially the chose of song. It means so much to me, especially as an outsider of the Mormon faith - to know that I honored the church and more importantly honored it's members such as yourself. I'm very happy I was able to evoke those wonderful memories within. May God continue to bless you and your entire family.

Bridget thank you so very much for your very kind words!! They have me over here tearing up. I'm glad my video is being received with open arms. As an outsider of the Mormon faith I was extremely scared of making something that would've been considered disrespectful to the church. After reading all the posts - those such as yours - I'm elated that it's being welcomed with open arms. God bless you and thank you for that.

Thank you! Every temple is symbol of our sacrifice and love for Jesus Christ. Each is also a reminder of God's love for us, that we are His children and we aspire to do good in every possible way we can- to live a life for Jesus Christ, serving one another in whatever capacity we have. Thank you for choosing to see the beauty of the temple. The exterior of each temple is a minuscule glimpse of what each temple represent and truly is. Again, thanks!

This was beautiful! I came here after reading a news article. What impressed me most was the degree of respect which you showed for a faith, not your own. It was so refreshing to hear something voiced so positively, given the tendency of others to focus on differences - and generally place those differences in a negative light. The world could use a few million more like you. Thanks for the time you put into this, and thanks for sharing it.

Miles Moore; You mean the Coven of ANT/ AN/ SET/ SET-AN/ SAT-AN ? You worship lucifer & don't even know it. Yeshua said: "Forgive them for they know not what they do," as he died at the hands of the Zionist Coven of ANT that is under the ARC of SET/SAT. Bible was changed to hide the truth--the wording changed to "Arc of the Coven-Ant" [Ark of the Covenant] that the modern mainstream Jews are unaware of today.

Very nice footage. I've never been to D.C. so this is an excellent opportunity to see the Temple there. Thank you.

I'm grateful Jesus Christ restored his church and that Temple's allow us to perform saving ordinances just like his church did in the Bible.

Wow! I'm saddened that the anti elements just cannot restrain themselves long enough to enjoy the ascetics of a truly beautiful building. Kudos to Mr Collins for his song choice and picking just the perfect light conditions. Buildings do inspire, and this one is among the best.

Loved the video, and thought the music was a great accompaniment! Hope to see more videos like this one - it would be awesome to see the Salt Lake Temple from a drone's view.

Tony, Thank you for taking the time to make a beautiful and inspiring video of the Washington DC Temple. Your video is the most stunning portrayal of any temple I have seen. I appreciate all of time and effort you must have put into making that video. THANK YOU! Mike BTW - The music is excellent.

Thank you for you very kind words Michael! That really means a lot to me! I'm so very happy that most people are finding inspiration, reliving fond memories and feelings because of this. To me - that is the best reward of all.

This is a lovely video. The music you chose is also brilliant and ads to the artistic value. As I watched, the first thing that came to mind was something by Charles Edwin Markham that Paul H. Dunn oft quoted: "We are all blind until we see That in the human plan Nothing is worth the making If it does not make the man. Why build these cities glorious If man unbuilded goes? We build the world in vain Unless the builders also grow."

Paul Winter oh and Tony, I don't know how you control the video like that-- I don't know how you get such control of the drone but it is awesome. Thanks for sharing your talent.

Paul Winter I'm not sure if you understand the meaning behind me quoting Paul H. Dunn, who quoted. Markham.. These glorious buildings.. all the money spent to build and keep them... could be better spent feeding and educating the poor. We are building more and more temples. Every religion is. Yet .... man unbuilded goes.

Dominique feeding man's spirit so that one day he may return to the Celestial Kingdom is a far greater service to mankind than a meal. We truly are in the latter days look no further than our government!

I LOVED THIS~! THANKS SO MUCH! The music was very different, but it grew on me and by the end I think I kinda liked it! I have never seen the angel so close like that- and the view of the temple glowing in the night was unreal. THANKS FOR DOING THIS. You did great!

Tony, beautiful job. I'm lifelong LDS, 48 years in the Mormon Corridor (well, okay, six weeks in California right after I was born, but other than that...) with professional musicians in my family who sing serious, formal music, opera and oratorio--and I want to tell you the music you chose was fine! I know you've heard otherwise. Culturally, our feelings about the Temple are such that most of us really can't imagine what it is to other people; we tend to feel like it should only be accompanied by serious, sacred, liturgical music, and a lot of us probably can't imagine anything other than the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the incredible tabernacle organ. To be honest, that's the only thing we've ever seen it paired with. I could even tell you the three most likely hymns they would be performing if the Church had produced this video. But trust me--it's just a cultural thing. If you felt as you did about the Temple, and you chose music that reflected what you felt--then it's the perfect music for you to have chosen, and we just need to get over our narrowness. :) I thought it was haunting and beautiful. And thank you for taking this footage. I hope you are able to take more, as you would like to. Also, if you ever get the chance to attend an Open House of a new Temple, do. They are as beautiful inside as they are outside, speaking strictly aesthetically. Some more than others...but all gorgeous.
