Mammals like us, looking into the eye of a whale as it swims up to your boat, is like looking into the soul of our planet. They are so precious to our lives, just by being there, floating around with their babies, teaching us to 'just breathe'.

We went to Maui for vacation years ago and I was swimming a bit far from the shore and I looked out towards the horizon and about 15 yards from me was a humpback whale and it’s calf swimming. It was so awesome I’ll never forget it. I didn’t know at the time that humpbacks go to Hawaii during the winter and can be seen until March or so depending on the year. Next time we go it will definitely be during this time.
