Survey crew chief/drone pilot here, born in 80'. I have been using GNSS systems at survey companies since 2008. Seeing what you have achieved with the R3 V2..man I'm getting misty over here. You and the team are outstanding. Harrison thank you for the amazing content on YT, as well as the courses on the Rock Robotic website. The passion and professionalism you guys are bringing to the table has a value that I do not see matched often. Please keep pushing the industry forward!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but those aren't girders. You are referencing the concrete barriers on the bridge's deck. Girders, as you referenced in the photos, are below the deck and would not be visible from an aerial top-down LiDAR collection.
Nice video. Your non-zero mean suggests a small bias on the high side. Were you ever able to find and resolve the source of it? Removing any systematic error would, of course, shrink your SD.
This is really interesting. What tool is used to summarize the LiDAR data...I ask because I imagine there are millions (billions?) data points. Thanks, and my apologies if this is a dumb question- I'm new here.😂
Any precision is possible with unlimited money and resources . Heres a challenge: Use 1 or 2 smartphones and their video data out of a moving car and get the coordinates of trees at the street with a precision of 10 cm. Whats realy relevant is the relation between money + time + n-data points + precesion
