@@MelenaSoleil Were you apart of this? It's kinda slandering if you don't know the facts. Maybe they were searching elsewhere and weren't close enough. If it were my child I would want someone I trust to get to her asap over my child waiting for me and being alone out there. If they weren't searching at all then they're p.o.s's. no way around it.

Also add Door alarms and deadbolts too high for the child to reach. Make sure your child knows how to swim.

No one finds it strange that some random dude from a whole different state RACES out to find a "missing young girl" with only a very vague photo to go off of SOMEWHERE in some random forest in a different state than he lives yet somehow he knew EXACTLY which forest area to fly his drone over and finds her within 30 min?? Then instead of her distraught parents lovingly racing in with the search crew to embrace their baby girl with parental relief, a "family friend" picks her up and carries her out?? This doesn't seem unusual and in need of more investigation to you???

My daughter used to sleep walk but thank God she never left the house.

My brother used to sleep walk like crazy when he was younger. I have no idea what provokes it but I once followed him outside our apartment and was about to exit the complex. That’s when I woke him up and brought him back home. He still talks in his sleep but fortunately he doesn’t sleep walk anymore. I understand why you may think it’s something you only see on TV or Cartoons but it is in fact real. I didn’t wake him right away since I’ve always been told it’s not safe to do so but once he was about to leave the complex I had to grab him. Such a bizarre ordeal if you ask me… I’m not an expert or did research on it but I did witness my brother sleep walk on countless occasions.

Get up and walk away? I guess I shouldn’t tell you to Google sleepwalking murderers who were acquitted? Some people can fully function and you don’t know they’re sleeping.

Locks high up may stop a 5 yr old, but not a 10 yr old. The only locks would be a key deadbolt on doors and key locks on the windows. And parent sleeps with the keys. That is dangerous in an emergency situation. Only one person has the means to open an escape.

Knew a family that has a sleep walker. Mom locked, bolted, AND barricaded the door. The child still somehow made it out and walked several miles across busy streets to a gas station. We knew the child was a sleep walker but no one expected she was capable of all that in her sleep.

Kids don't just fall asleep at night... you'd have to lock them in most of the day in case they fall asleep on the sofa

Sleepwalking is mostly a genetic quirk that runs in families. I also consider sleepwalking to be a good thing because it means the person gets slow wave sleep!

An ankle bracelet is a bit much (lol), but in all seriousness, a simple wrist bracelet should do the trick.

And just in case anyone gets this idea… a GPS on a necklace might sound like a good idea, just don’t wear it to bed, or you’ll accidentally asphyxiate (choke).
