Looks like fun but extended times are gonna kill the hardware from heat and condensation. Something slicker than cable ties and hotglue that would allow opening after flights and sealing quickly. What is the all up weight please?
Wow that seems to be a very modifiable air frame. We really want these quad frames. They look so cool and durable we've seen the other videos of this quad and all the testing its ben through and were sold. we will but one as soon as they are avalible.
If you are controlling it with an handheld TX it is not a drone, it is only a drone if it is under autonomous control for nearly the entire flight per AMA which anyone who flies RC aircraft should be a member of.
Do the esc's overheat? Have you tried mounting a brushless gimbal on a quad yet? It makes the video look so smooth. I might get the Walkera G-2D gimbal. Its lightweight and only $90.
OK, now combine the water landing modified frame with the pool noodle and the 300ft drop test over the lake. I would love to see how it handles a 300ft drop into the water in the case of a radio blackout over water.
They droped this from 400ft in one of there other vids and all they had to do was bend the props back into place. I bet it will be fine over the water.
Absolutely awesome!! The best part is that you show so much enthusiasm regarding the drone. I am truly jealous that you have so much fun in testing the product, cheers to you and your team!
What about water getting in the Motors ? and also protecting the electrical how did you do that ? I wrote you guys never heard a response to your email
Brushless motors can get wet. no problem, just rinse out again if it's salt water - the salt CAN be an issue. But these motors can run underwater. All the wiring is protected by the mods shown in the clip. Thx for the comments!
I Really like that drone i wanted to buy and build one like that but questions unanswered made me confused is there any video that explains all you need i want my drone to be waterproof and have good speed , gps , return to home fail safe , and support the go pro 4 with a good gimble but i do not know where to begin. if you had time please let me know how to get some of this info as on your websites there not informative . but i do love those drones i want to when i can save up again build a clear drone body but do not know what to put inside thx again
nice and thx, was going to spend $40 to buy getter back, I have floating noodles in my house laying around for nothing after kids are grown. Love to recycle the noodle to save a few bucks! Kill 2 birds in 1 stone. (1) Get rid of garage clutter (2) build a DIY float noodle drone saver.
Styxx N depends where you get 'em from, but can get up in the air for far less than that... quad esc, $40 4 motors $50 bunch of props and adaptors $20 Controller and RX $100-$200. Quad brain $30 Battery and charger $50, 150 if you want a good charger/few spare batts Various other bits (connectors, bolts etc) $25 about 300 all up, going with cheap but good stuff. probably a bit less if you really wanna be stingy.
