I was at the top of this volcano, with two German (father and son) around 1989 or 1990. It was then a real (day trip) adventure as the roads from Arequipa to the mountain (and the trail to the top) were hardly existing. I remember we got lost on our way back to Arequip at at the Lago Salina. Finally, we made it back to Arequipa around midnight.
