well the story comes in the editing room, i'm sure. the cameraman collects an impressive collection of various behaviour they observe and expect from the animals and archives them

One of my biology lecturers said that she met Attenborough for filming in life of birds, and had to send published research to show that any behaviour filmed was what we would expect to see in the wild and not out of the ordinary. Obviously theres a level of dramatization in documentaries and editing to bring out emotion, idk these docs are so cool.
