Very impressed with his guitar skills. I knew from the first chord he had the feel. Then blew me away with the solo. Band is great too. Singers right on pitch. I like our future. Great work.
It's funny you point that out. That's one of the most impressive things on this song, to me that ride is so perfectly steady during that break. Alex is a beast on the drums. And his sound is unmistakable. Just like Eddie's. They both have such a signature sound
@@romancturner Right? I used to think it was an overdub or a drum machine, because it's perfect, haha, but I'm sure it was Alex doing his thing.. Hearing this kid do it was very impressive.
His version, is the best I've seen. Especially, that fill before the 2nd verse...NO ONE I've seen play it, does it like this kid did it. (Me included! Haha!)
yeah.. I dont think Van Halen even played this song much after 1985. heh Cover bands dont play it, cas its kinda of a hard song on guitar. Not very popular song unless you had the album.
At 2:21/ 2:22 ish...the guitarist looks like "Not only did I execute that guitar lick, but I did it in front of people..." kind of confidence look...way cool IMO...
I loved how when he got just a tick behind, right past 1:30, because of whatever adjustment it was that he had to make, he allowed the guitar to sustain rather than briefly stopping. It was subtle & people might not've even noticed, but still. It was a great example of attention to detail combined with skill & most importantly, talent... 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 🇺🇸
I really don't care about the singers. But watching that young man learn to work some magic on that guitar actually brought a tear to my eye thinking about Eddie! Very very cool! Excellent rhythm section, too!!
EVH had a hell of a musical style and not easy to duplicate some of his stuff, ive been trying sense i heard him first in 78 i was 18 and now im 61 and still amazed by his music and still trying to learn it.
My god, the guitarist. Listen, this is going to be high praise: You are a true guitarist, capturing Ed's guitar-as-an-extension of his body. The girls were cute for sure, covering Dave's parts fine. The bass player doing Michael, nice! And the brother wearing a virus mask while drumming for some reason, covered Al nicely with the loose high hat! AWESOME JOB!!
hey guitar player...you nailed it...really. not just the notes but the feel, which the most important part. eddie always played a little off, ahead and then behind the beat
This is so great. Anyone know more about this whole school of rock thing? Is that the entity that is bringing these talented kids together? Whole band sounds great but mr. "young EVH" is slaying it, he's fantastic. Keep on keepin' on young man!
Great job all around....but that outtro absolutely ROCKED! These kids “get” how VH is supposed to sound. Killer performance of a fan favorite! Edward is smiling!!!
Rhythm section is great. The bass player is in their own class. Really enjoyed the bass line. Guitar pretty good. It’s a hard tune. Singers were good but they should have gotten better with those harmonies but still, better than most. Keep practicing and jamming you’re all very talented!
To anyone making negative comments about these young folks could you please share with us when and where you saw VH live and whether you liked their performance.
In my opinion only....THIS HE'S REAL GOOD!.....but if you were them iconic overalls.....YOU REALLY NEED TO BE GROOVING ALL OVER THAT STAGE!!!! BELIEVE ME!!!...if it was me, they would think I'm Eddie himself! When you pick up the "axe" and play like that person....BOY YOU BETTER DANCE THE DANCE! Besides the gores would be all over him making REAL LOVE to that guitar!!!!
No doubt I was 16 when this album was released , this HOUSE SHAKER never got played by local rock stations. One of my favorites by VH AS WELL. R.I.P. EDDIE THE MOST EXPLOSIVE 🧨 GUITARIST IN HISTORY.............
These kids have really done their homework! You could see the energy of this song hit them all at the first drum beat. Good to know that the legend of Van Halen is still Rocking in a new generation! Awesome performance by all!

As a professional drummer of over 30 years this brings a tear to my eye😥😥. All the kids around your age are too focused on being a big RU-vid star on their individual instrument and nobody plays and in a band anymore. It's good to see you've put in the time and effort and work it takes to get these songs down. Are you guys perfect no, but are you having a hell of a time and kicking ass. Hell yes!!!! Remember music is not a competition and nobody holds your hand up at the end and says you're the winner. ( Not unless you're in a battle of the band's competition) No trophies given out nor championship belts. Don't mind the haters and just keep jamming because that's what Ed, Alex, Michael, Sammy, Dave and Wolfgang would want you to do!!!
It's true . Playing a long to a backing track of a big band and recording is very misleading. Playing live with other musicians (at your level) is very revealing.
You all would make the Van Halen members very happy. Smiling, dancing, harmonizing and playing as a fluid band, and most importantly having fun! That's what music is all about! Great job to all of you!!
