I’m really excited about this wave of shoegaze bands coming back, it’s beautiful to see how appreciated the genre is today

It's amazing I agree! I think the future for shoegaze is bright, and I'm so thrilled.

I'm so very glad shoegaze never really went away. The Japanese, Eastern European and South American scenes kept things humming, though the mid-2000s to early 2010s was a really fallow period. Clairecords seemed to hold the fort down until the larger revival happened from what I experienced. Shame bands like All Natural Lemon and Lime Flavors, Lenola (though they were really part of the Psychedelphia trend), Sleepover Disaster and Sciflyer never really got their days in the sun.

while I agree they are pretty mellow I still think Kick The Tragedy is one of the greatest shoegaze songs of all time... there's so many effects going on to create a very haunting dreamscape all backed by this huge wall of fuzz kind of muffled or off in the distance, it is a journey as all good songs should be

I discovered Drop Nineteens with the release of Delaware in 1992 when I was 20. I had a habit of purchasing CDs just because I liked the album covers without ever hearing the band and Delaware was one of those albums. I liked the album cover and noticed they were on Caroline Records which was a great label so I bought it at the Camelot music store in the mall. When I listened to it I was blown away and it's been one of my favorite albums of the 1990s ever since. I didn't know Drop Nineteens were Shoegaze, I didn't even know what Shoegaze was but it didn't matter because all I knew was that I completely vibed with their music and will for the rest of my life. ❤❤❤

Thanks very much. Delaware is a fantastic album. Great video. I didn't know about Paula leaving because she felt exasperated. Shoegazing mostly seemed to integrate male and female band members to the point that it felt it wasn't an issue... but maybe that's a myth. Looking forward to their return. And more shoegazing videos from you.

Thank you Chris!! Your comment really means a lot, and I hope my future videos won't disappoint. I agree, it's a phenomenal record and has become one of my favorites. It was unfortunate to discover that Paula had such a rough time touring. I'm sure a lot of it had to do with their youth and probable exhaustion.

This is the best news since the Slowdive reunion!! The Drop Nineteens were the group that introduced me to Shoegaze. About 15 years ago a local record store was closing their doors and selling everything which is where I picked up Deleware unaware of the group and what "Shoegaze" was, but the album cover was cool. I immediately loved the sound, especially "Deleware" and Kick The Tragedy", and began to discover the genre and discovered Slowdive shortly there after. Sadly I never warmed up to "National Coma" but am excited for a reunion and releasing mastered versions of old material!

I commented that it is hard to find, and Steve Zimmerman hit me up and sent me the version I was looking for via email. I'm in Boston. I have been since '88. The melodic punk band I was in, (Damaged Goods) -was well aware of the local bands we were competing with for air time on college stations WZBC and WMBR, -and here's where everything goes to suck. There was a local band called "The Forever 19" who even competed in the WBCN Rumble of 1991. I knew them to be some hot female fronted pussy band- (which broke up in the night of the Rumble after receiving bad reviews), and of course I assumed the Drop Nineteens were the same band. UGH. I never saw the Drop Nineteens play or supported them because of that basic mistake.....their name was all over flyers around Boston at the time, but I always tuned them out. I hope at some point you guys forgive me......sorry......
