Drop Shots for February Perch!! Open Water!! (Mississippi River Fishing) 

Fishing Freaks!! Welcome back to the first open water fishing video of the 2024 season here on Too Fat To Hunt Outdoors. Today I am with my buddy Corey, and we are verticle jigging for Jumbo Ring Perch on the main channel of the Mississippi River. With the crazy warm Wisconsin days we have been having this winter, the channel is open, the boat ramps are open, and the bite is on! We didn't crush the fish today, but we managed a dozen or so eaters and several shorts. We used minnows and nightcrawlers on drop shot rigs to catch these tasty critters. Most fish were caught in moderate current in 15-18 feet of water.
