Best mod for the scx6. Tied it on my completely stock scx and it was a night and day performance improvement, as well as a more scale stance…thanks for sharing.
In my tamiya days I put a filler inside the damper but that only lowers it a little. Doesn't solve the issue you have and probably getting more lowering out of it now. Thinking to buy one. Doesn't have to be for the best crawling so lowering is an idea so it's more stable cornering at speed.
@@nikpinet2745 Hey! On the Early Bronco I have 93mm shocks mounted to to link mounts and the 10.3s I have 90mm shocks also mounted on the link mounts on the highest level on the towers with 50% droop. Also, check your silicone weight with your particular shocks for performance gains.
@@kennethrobinson9008 thanks for the tip. What do you mean by the shocks being mounted on the link mount? They’re not attached to the axle? Sorry I’m not usually a noob maybe I’m having a brain fart
@@nikpinet2745 No worries. On the Bronco there is a mount on the axle for the shocks and another location lower on the axles for the links. I mounted the shocks and the links in the same link mount, which reduces the ride height. It will take longer screws and spacers to make the adjustments but is worth the time.
I’d like to see some of the RC4WD 40 series tires on it with the suspension raised back up. Especially those 8 inch plus tires! Would look like a properly lifted big tire Jeep!
Thanks Joe! Another great tuning option. The 6th scale long wheelbase helps with climbing. Like the 10iii Gladihater. But makes high centering a problem. Probably not going this way anytime soon. If you get a 30 minute window, check out the Missouri Scalers Rigs and Coffee video! It was a great time at Elephant Rock in Missouri. I'd only had my 6 a couple weeks and it was box stock except for stickers. Got a lot of fat shaming. Big girl, SUMO, lol. And it was great! Set some vacation aside and join us for the next one. Bring some 10ths and your 6!
Got my Anit- Foams and got to test them out yesterday I got them in my Voodoo KLR/M’s and they are awesome got the dual stage no tuning rods, no tire rollover they are just awesome dude I love them waiting on another set for my 4.19’s
Looks good lowered and looks like it handled a little better. But couldn't you just use softer springs to get it lowered? Will it work the same so this way there will be no putting the shocks on the lower axle mount and doing adjustments on the panhard mount.
First thing to do on a SCX10 or 6 is to cut The fenders trough the line that gives 1/8” clearance without doing anything to the suspension on an scx10-3
Joe: Back in the 1st gen, redcat gen8 days, WE overdrive the front AND under-drove the rear axles. Was about a 65 fr & 35 rear. WE also messed around with doing it the reverse. Wasn't good, except in reverse! 😜
I'm selling mines for $900 I only ran it in the living room it's still like brand new this crawling it's just not for me. also your spring compression seems to be too tight the wheels are not moving up and down as a crawler Wheels should do raise it back up and put on bigger tires thanks
3mins in, so I apologise if this was covered, but would you not just invert the shock and maybe add a spacer for the top mount instead? Puts the shock body weight lower to shift the COG and you don't change the preload of the springs?
It just keeps getting better! How much clearance between the Vitavon shock towers and the hood? It looks like they could have been taller, to provide more adjustability in the suspension.
Do you want some washers at the top of the shock also so it matches the distance from the chassis at the bottom so the shocks aren't crooked or would it even matter for crawling? Just wondering i don't do crawling so i apologize if it's a stupid question.
Hi i have question for you 😃 what Will be the best motor compo to put in my second X maxx wanna make it wide whit the new widekit also and what gears and gearing
