Project Harold is our 1972 Chevy C10 project that we have been working on for the past year. We have decided to go with a CPP Coil-over conversion for the front end, and we wanted to share our experience with you.
In this video, we will walk you through the entire process of converting a 1972 Chevy C10's front end to a coil-over rig along with the lessons that we learned during this part of the resto-mod journey.
Project Harold is a classic truck project that we hope you will enjoy! Thanks for watching!

Depending on your alignment shop you might want to see if you can get some extra shims before you go. Most new cars don't use shims so a lot of shops don't keep them in stock anymore...there's my PSA for the week.🤣😎 Thanks for being the guinea pig on the specifics of this kit too.😎

Thanks for watching brother. I've thought of the same thing. I'm going to find a shop through Golden Rule that is experienced with classic car experience. I tend the be the first for a lot of crap in my life. Lol. Another reason to have the channel. ✌️

Nice work! I swear some of these companies seem like they assume everyone has an engineering degree.

Thank you sir for watching and the kind words. Yes I agree. Everything on this truck is a first for me so it's been not only relying on good instructions on some of them but just something that you can make some sense out of it all. LOL. Enjoying the journey though.

Thank you so much for your detailed instructions for installing this lowering kit from CPP. I ordered this same front and rear kit over a year ago for my project truck and for some reason I never received any instructions. And good luck trying to find any assemble instructions or videos on the CPP website. So CPP owes you for actually doing a step by step video instructions of their product. One of the biggest complaint i had was there are no instructions on how to assemble the coil over shocks. All their videos just show them starting the process, a bunch of drama, and then "ta da" its done. And oh yeah, if it makes you feel better, I had to remove my passenger side header also just to end up torching the bolts exactly like you guys did in order to get the old upper control arm bracket off (after spending 3 hours trying to remove them with a socket). Great job you 2 on you video! Thank you so much!

Hi Brian. Thank you so much for watching and sharing the kind words and your own journey with us. We can't thank you enough. For the very same reason you called out , we wanted to create this video for others. To know that it helped 1 person, made it all worth it. Funny that you ran into some of the same struggles that we did. Which truck did you install the kit on? Would love to hear more about it and if you're the sharing type, feel free to send us some of your project pics. Email is in the description. Hope you stick around for more of the build series. Cheers!

Very cool man good job. Thanks for the instructions, 1 question. Why the coil overs in the front and not the back? Thanks again. 👍

Hi SoCal. Thanks for watching and sharing the kind words. We really appreciate it. Great question. It was a mix of 2 reasons, cost and purpose of truck. It won't be on the track and springs vs. coilover cost wise, which is ridiculous, made it an easy decision. We're also building a full 70 Mustang so we're balancing funds between the two. 😫. Thanks for following along on the build.

@@SpiritedWrenchers gonna start on my 72 c10 this week. Was thinking of going all coil over but just might go with the performance package with coils. Does the coil overs make a big difference in the front? It’s Just gonna be a street truck with a 383, 270/280 mega Hydraulic roller, Brodix heads, Should be fun. Got the truck 15 years ago for 500$ drove it for 6 years and it’s just been sittin. Son just got his liscense so he can feel what it was like to drive a truck from the mid 1900’s 😂. Great videos thanks again.

Next time, do yourself a huge favor, point the torch the direction you are cutting. Only about 15-20 degrees. You'll get a cleaner cut, with alot less cleanup. Good job anyway.

HI Gary. Thanks for watching and sharing the tip. Really appreciate that. This was actually my first time ever cutting with a torch. LOL. Quite the first practice piece huh? Mess it up and I'm screwed. Hahahaha. Since then I've purchased a plasma cutter so I'll have an even better tool if I have to cut stuff again. Thanks again for the feedback and tip. That's what a positive community is all about. Cheers!
