In this English pronunciation lesson, learn when and why we drop the T in words with NT. These words have more than one pronunciation, and native speakers in North American English say them both ways. Keep learning English with me, an experienced English teacher!

-- Where are you from?
I was born and raised in the United States. I live in California.
-- How many years have you been teaching?
Over 20 years.
-- What qualifications do you have?
I have a Master's degree in linguistics with an emphasis in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)
-- What languages do you speak?
English is my native language. I've studied Spanish, Czech, French, a little German, and Portuguese. I speak Portuguese as my second language because my husband is from Brazil.
-- Do you teach online?
I have a full-time teaching job at a college in California, so I don't currently offer English lessons online. However, I may do that in the future, so check back!

I can remember that I usually pronounce the word INTERNET with a dropped T 😊 . I enjoy practicing American accent. It is like my favorite piece of cake 🍰😍😋

​@@LearnAcademicEnglish My students keep asking how the British pronunciation of some words, like "bottle of water," is "Bo'ohw'o'wo'er." Maybe you can discuss this topic in another video if you haven't already. Thanks in advance
