YEEEES... And, often the songs sound better with just 1 instrument..... my dad always said, when she strips a song back, it still sounds stunning and that is the art of a good song.. just stunning
She has always had a clear vision of where she's wanted to go and become a true artist. Her first 2 CD Releaese parties were held inside Taylor Guitars concert space ( I worked for them 2005-2008).
For the folks going all romantic, probably you don't know, the original lyricist/lead singer from 'Train' wrote this song in the loving memory of his mother who passed away and came in his dream wishing farewell. That's when he wrote this song up as a reply to their unfinished conversation #LoveBeyondUniverse
lol well what he says its about and what its necessarily about doesn't have to be correlated now, does it. Could be that he wrote it for someone who broke his heart and he just doesn't want to man up and say it. "Tell me, did you fall for a shooting star- One without a permanent scar? And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there?" Why would he reference a woman falling for someone handsome and without his kind of (facial) scarring and then wonder if she missed him? kinda weird to phrase it together like that. If this in fact is about his mom, they must have had a very "Southern" kinda relationship xD Either that or he just didn't want to upset the new love of his life (think he's married) by telling her about the great love that bailed on him.
@@scroopynooperz9051 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6pO_HdcBVBk.html, literally about his mom and what he thinks/hopes the after life is for her after she died of cancer. Do whatever mental gymnastics you need to, in the end, you're wrong.
I can't believe this is never on those "favorite vocal moments" videos, i mean.... didn't they hear 1:11 - 1:38??? this part is so nailed, she sounds so GREAT, her vocals are so on point!
Liz... you are so correct. Check her expression immediately after that, and again at 3:08-3:36. Definitely poetry in motion. The only other one I may compare it to is Miley Cyrus rendition of "50 ways to lose your lover" from SNL. Paul was in the audience, said he couldn't of done it any better... and she wasn't wearing an earpiece either....
Hmmmm.... no. The phrasing and emphasis is all wrong in that section. And don't say she's putting her own spin on it, there's putting your own spin on it and just not getting it right and this was the latter....
@@paulwood5803 She is performing her own take on the song. She dispensed with the fancy chord progressions and said to herself. I think I can do this without all that. Let's just keep it simple and sing it from the heart with an overwhelmingly subtle amount of rhythm and emotion.
Agreed, At her debut cd release party she was already talking about where she saw herself going as an artist and song interpreter (along with the likes of Joe Cocker & my favorite Bettye LaVette)
I was Swift's Speak Now tour stop in Washington, D.C. in August 2011, with my 8-yr-old daughter. Most incredible show experience of my life. She wanted to engage EVERYONE in that arena!
As a typical 80s and 90s covers band singer, I was always snobbish about listening to Taylor Swift’s songs, but this ☝️ OMG 😱 @Taylor Swift - I don’t know if Venus blew my mind, but you sure did with this beyond beautiful rendition of Train!!😍
i came late to the party too, this kid is to be enjoyed eyes closed with headphones.....you will never go back to snob...lol...lovely young lady, 66 here seen a lot.....
@@ronnietoots6797 She is without a doubt a singer for the ages. Why? Because she takes the talent that she has - which is a lot - and then transforms it past the mechanics - into a real communication of dedication and service - it's being thankful for being alive. This is honesty in motion - delivered with love.
@@henrywasserman and I would add if you look through all her discography there's a story she tells , there's a progression not just random pop even though she rules that genre
@@gsiya4023 She is a very classy honest lady for the ages. Our ears continue to reap the rewards of her seemingly endless enthusiasm and quest for the perfect sound. Did I mention. The story telling? Ha ha ha.
OMG please listen to Joshua Basset's version as well. I understood exactly who you feel when I heard it. The guy has A VOICE. Real talent just like Taylor.
When I listen to Taylor sing this song, I’m transported to another world. I feel this indescribable, enchanting feeling. I wonder how the fans must’ve felt watching this live.
@@james2578 TBH, this is one of those songs, that would make you feel this way without having to resort to drugs! I’m sorry if you didn’t feel it, be it this cover or the original.. 😢

This song was pretty popular in her coming of age so it’s not that surprising that she would know this song. I’m her age and grew up hearing it on the radio. It’s a great song for sure, but not that obscure.
God, i wish she could re record that. She probably won't because it's not hers but..man,it's so sad. I can only imagine how her voice would sound today singing this amazing song. It was already incredible back then...I guess i'll never know😪
@@imogensadler168 I wish i could hear the re-recording, cause i listen to this version all the time. So many songs from back then i wanted a re-recording. Covers, songs from movies,un-released ones, but unfortunally i know she won't be able to re-record all of them cause she doesn't have the rights to all of them and not every one of them is hers.
@@claricesilva2700 I know, I wish for re-recordings that will likely never happen too! I also wish for random acoustic performances of hers being recorded and put on spotify but that will never happen really either! I just love this cover... its a piece of magic!

Heard every song since they tuned the radio, sorry about that line, loved mainly rock bands, but hearing Taylor s speak now songs on u tube , bought cd gets to work and back every daby has done for 3 months solid
Her voice and her character as a whole as a person, singer strikes me so much. 🤟 I inspire myself on singers like her albeit I am an amateur singer just yet. And the original by Train I guess is so freaking awesome too. Love them both💎🎤✨💜
Vocally she reminds me of an alto-less-powerful Dolly Parton. Pleasant and recognizable. Great song writer (yes, I know this a Train song) with an ability to connect with her audience through both song and spoken word interludes.
Even if this was a cover I fell in love with this song I wish Taylor would have continued country but I will support her nonetheless!!!!!! I love her, she’s been a big part of my childhood and inspired me to sing and join singing groups And she will always be a big part in my childhood
No auto tune? I’ll go with it because it would run contrary to all I’ve heard or read about the woman. However, unless you are one of Taylor’s sound engineers you can’t say that for sure!!
If you're reading this, I wish you good things in your life.. Everything happens for a very good reason, and you may not know the reasons why, but someday, it will become clear to you.. ✨
Damn!! For the last months I'/ve been listening to other stuff, just to discover she's had a quantum jump in her singing, her gutar playing, and her band!!!!
Pat would be so SO proud - great tribute to his late Mother - the best soy latte that you ever had and Me God I hope Pat and Taylor are friends in real life
