I’m always thrown off by the fact the Ole Hendrickson primer is called “banana bright” but it’s orange packaging and smells like oranges 😅 Love a good dupes video! And LOVE the “dupe meter” 🙌🏼💖
Fun fact for everyone who lives in a country that doesn’t sell Rimmel: I live in Germany and Rimmel‘s sister brand Manhattan sells the Wonder Cloud Cream Shadow 🤯 Same product name, same packaging. Just under Manhattan‘s brand name.
Thank you for the comment. You can buy rimmel online but I didn't know that Manhattan is the sister brand of Rimmel🤯 Def going to try some products from them!
Dupe vids are my absolute favorites!! Not everyone can afford high end makeup so dupes are so exciting. Also I love love love your chain necklace, where’s it from??
Thank you for trying on the products as well! I love dupe videos and find it so much more helpful to actually see them in action rather than someone just describing them ❤️
Oh man, when you showed Hourglass bronzer, I was hoping that whatever that dupe would be available in India. And it is. Thanks Jamie, cannot wait to try.
I will always love how you don't have any filters over your videos, and we can truly see your skin, texture, pores, that are all so beautiful! Thank you Jamie!
I also like Maybelline Dream Urban Cover. SPF of 50 and beautiful coverage. I pulled it out of my stash today and it is awesome. Not sure why I haven’t been using it more.
This really makes me think. I mostly buy high end make up as I can afford it and believe I am getting a better product. However I don't want to waste my money if I can get the same results for a lot less. There's plenty of other things I could spend my money on. Or not spend it and save more for my retirement... the slower I save, the longer I have to work after all. And I can retire sooner if I can reduce what I think I need to spend on things like beauty in retirement. The main challenge I have with drug store products is finding colours I really like. For example it feels like most lipsticks have cool undertones. Finding a red with a warm/yellow undertone is so hard compared to a blie toned one. But maybe I just need to look harder, or be more willing to only buy high end when I really can't get what I want at the drug store, rarher than default to high end for everything.
That L’Oréal foundation is my actual favourite of all time. It doesn’t move, it looks like skin, it’s got amazing coverage, it’s got some extra sun protection, it doesn’t crease. It’s just *chefs kiss*
Yay yay yay love these videos of yours. You really don’t play with these dupe videos ! 🤗 Love the effort you put into these ACTUALLY being dupes. Not a lot of people do that 👏👏👏👏
It really shows that you put so much effort in finding these dupes, and I love that you used the same tools for high end and drugstore version so that any difference in the final result is only due to the difference in product. PS you nails look so DOPE!!!! such unique, cool, fierce design, I love it so much
Some really good dupes! Don’t really agree on the bronzer though, the wet n wild one is more glittery/shimmery but a fairly ok dupe considering the price difference
I have the Wet n Wild bronzer and I love the glow it gives. I'm not big on using bronzer but I cannot understand the hype with matte bronzers. I love a golden glow so much more and to me it's a lot more natural. The elf concealer I really liked in the beginning but not so much for under eyes anymore. It creases a lot on me but I do use it for other areas of the face. I'm really loving Revlon's candid photo ready concealer. I'm finding that light wear formulas as opposed to too creamy and thick crease a lot less. Kokie has awesome, inexpensive liquid shadows in an array of colors and hardly anyone talks about them. And Loreal's brilliant liquid eye shadow is another formula that looks beautiful on the eyes.
@@parisinthe30sx everybody always saids Matt is more forgiving but as an someone with oily skin, acne, clogged pores, and texture I have always found natural glowy looks better. I can never get that poreless perfect Matt skin everyone talks about even slightly, I just lean into my imperfections and I find that works best.
I just love the way this blush makes your cheek bones pop! 💕 Such a pretty shade on you. (Now I want the Nars & Burts Bees LOL, they’re equally stunning) ✨
This video was recommended to me on the sidebar. 5 seconds in I knew two things... 1. You were Canadian, 2. I'd be subscribing. I love love love your delivery. Hello from Vancouver!!
Found those Rimmel eyeshadows a few weeks ago and also realized they are a dupe for the smashbox. And. I actually think the drugstore side might look a bit better 😳😱
Can you do a comparison between the hourglass bronzer and the Flower Beauty heatwave bronzer? I haven’t tried either yet but they look like they’d be a potential dupe.
Oooh Im totally getting that Smashbox eyeshadow, loved the color! (And sanitary squeezy tubes has my lil makeup germ heart) Also can’t wait to get the L’Oréal foundation, we just got it in Sweden 😍 Thank you for these tips beautiful!
Honestly color wise no you cannot tell. texture wise you can. The higher end products seem to melt together seamlessly and sit over any texture you have and the appear to blend better
DUPE METER is my fave thing about this video!! 👏👏 I've been commenting about this to different creators over the years, and this is the first one I've seen with a visual indicator like this. Thanks so much Jamie!! 😍😍 Just quietly though It Cosmetics was sold to L'Oreal in March so the formula sharing was intentional, but just different enough that they don't cannibalism the company they just bought.
I love side by side application of dupes. It really helps to see what the full face looks like. And I love that Milani primer, never tried the Ole Henriksen because pretty much everything they create has fragrance in it, and that's a deal breaker on my skin.
When you know that L'Oréal is the owner of hundreds of high and normal brands , you know that most of all, you are paying , first for the name and second for the packaging. ... and nearly all made in China . Can't understand people doesn't get it ..... Never quality has less to do with price than nowdays .... great video !
Love dupe videos! Cant wait to try the Wet N Wild bronzer. I have both the It CC foundation and the L'Oreal serum foundation. When I wear the L'oreal foundation I do notice it emphasizes the texture in my skin.
Do you think the Cover-girl exhibitionist lid paint are similar to the Smashbox one? The packaging is so similar! (I haven’t tried the Smashbox one, so I was wondering !!)
I'm living for this showdown right now. I feel that in the last few years drugstore makeup brands have up'd their game. So it's really cool to see them in action!
I adore that fluid sheer product by Armani. Have been using number 2 for more than 5 years and I don't change it. Now the only new thing about it is the smaller size, it used to only come in a 30 ml size, the product itself has been around for years
i think it'd be so fun if in the beginning of the video (when you do the intro and have the makeup on already), you don't tell us which side is luxury or drugstore so that we have like a few seconds to guess which side is which! i've never seen a dupe for hourglass bronzer so this is excitingg. I am LOVING the dupe meter. so cute and helpful!
I really loved this video Jamie I just subbed to your channel. I so appreciate you doing the wear test so we could see the wear of the products for ourself at the end of the day. I also have dry skin like you too 🤗
I think the bronzer is a big, lovely difference. I would spend that kind of money on Hourglass...someday hahaha, I like it and it's an experience. Everything is, about the experience that the product offers you, depends where you're ready to put your money though 😇😉 just in my opinion. Loved the list, it was different dupes than the usual 👍🏼
Loved this!! 1) your dupe meter is 👌🏻👌🏻 2) what a difference in price for all the products!! Overall, the face looks the same! It doesn't look like you're wearing different products on both sides 😮 Also, I love the Essence individual eyeshadows! Have you tried them ?
So odd! As you were describing/swatching and putting on each product, they did look the same. But I have to say, in the close up shots, the high-end side looked way better to me. It may have been the blush on the dupe side. It looked a bit heavier. Maybe that’s what threw it off for me?? Thx for a great video!!
Loreal one shows all the acne texture on my skin. Your It cc side looks better to me...like satin. I live in Az..my problem is keeping moisture on my skin..dry skin gabe too
I have that rimmel eyeshadow and it’s great! My only issue is it feels more dry, or has a tighter feel? Idk it makes it harder to move or blend but I don’t mind it much, it works for that one-step/one eyeshadow look.
Elf putty blushes and NYX sweet cheeks both are cream blushes that go to a powdery matte finish. There are more I just can't think of them off the top of my head right now.
For some reason I can’t seem to make the it cosmetics cc cream look nice on my skin. I always use a very small amount-barely a pump- for my whole face and it always breaks up on my skin over time. I want to make it work bc it was expensive but I’m kind of at a loss for how to make it look nice. Any tips?
The loreal foundation is way more dewy on me than the cc cream which is basically matte on me. It's also lighter on the skin and less coverage. I would never think they were dupes.
I bought the LOREAL foundation recently and love it. I saw someone else (perhaps Sam or Allana?) compare it to the Pat McGrath foundation. Would you think that’s a fair comparison too? I really wanna try the Pat one, but if this is comparable then I should be good!
You should do your next favourites video with your mum. It would be interesting to see what she’s been loving. I loved her on your last video. Or maybe a video about her top beauty tips she’s used over the years to help instill some wisdom!
