It's been a while since I've played / recorded an Evan Marien track. Evan's tracks tend to provide a freedom to 'stretch' a bit, with so many challenging figures, vamp/groove; needless to say Dana Hawkins absolutely kills on the original recording of 'Ikigai' off the Elysian Album (2023). Such a cool track with a killer bassline (of course) but the synth-hits on the 'upbeats' is a wild ride to play along to. This track is cool to check your chops health to for sure.
