I absolutely love brushes. It seems the uses are endless. When I play ballads for dancers, I want them to feel, rather than hear the brushes. I want the brushes to softly tell them, "Go on, you can get closer to each other." Comparing the sound of them to the ocean is the best description, ever. Wonderful video!
Thanks Brett, for shooting and posting this. And thanks to Louis for letting this out. he knows a thing or 10 about using this instrument to enhance the music.
Its, real good to see Lewis, Takin Time to do this as an exemplary Drummer , shows He cares and wants to impart true form on the Drumkit .Theres too much otherworldly phoney crap out there also...He's for Real . Soul & Peace...
"I tell the drummers to PLAY the bass drum...there's something about it...you're rooted"... I've always wondered what the rational was for that...Miles seemed to tell his cat's to lay off the bass drum, but I appreciate what's being said here. Miles had his way of doing things, but I'm gonna work on this thing he's saying.
