Exactly this experiment was dumb, home pressure does not exceed 100 psi, so the question remains at what pressure did the drums fail? Obviously this vid is intended to trick people into not using these drums as the can be of substantial benefit and saving from the commercial options, if it weren't the intent, he'd have answered that 7 month old question.
Yeah, the reason I came here was to find out what Pressure caused the failure & I was hoping it was air pressure,... I was wondering about using these drums for a raft but inserting a Schrader Valve to add compressed air for more buoyancy & was thinking 20 PSI which may increase to 25 to 30 PSI with weight on the raft.
RVers know there are water pressure regulators that are placed between city high pressure supply and the rv plumbing system, to PROTECT IT. It can be set to prevent ‘explosions’ in the system. This video is a failure because it did NOT reveal the pressure to avoid!!! A real shame as this could have been very informative… but wasn’t…. So this video is a greater failure than either bloated barrel!
i was trying to figure out if a stainless steel drum can handle 10-15 psi... then i could build a massive pressure cooker and stick smaller 30-40 galloon drums inside for bulk farm canning. its wild to me you're the only person to test this.
