Great reaction. Adam is considered one of the best, if not the best beatboxer in the world. In one of his videos he indicated that he self taught himself to play drums properly to improve his beatboxing skills. He played trumpet in college. He has further advanced his skills in playing an air harmonica, or nomonica and it is truly amazing how he has captured emulating its sound. You may to react to their cover of Man Of Constant Sorrow to view his skills in that video. His beatboxing is legendary throughout the entire library of Home Free videos. Home Free is an incredibly talented A Capella vocal band. Once you start down the HF rabbit hole you become addicted as a permanent fan.

Bruh the best in the world? I mean I respect him spreading beatboxing through mainstream but it's just sad that all other beatboxers that pushed boundaries beyond human capabilities through sheer hardwork ain't receiving a recognition except by the beatbox community.

Re: breath control. I would argue that the very hardest part of beatboxing at a high level is breath control. There are two ways to go about it for the most part, both of which can be used in conjunction to improve the final product in a way that I would say is roughly multiplicative. One is mastering as many sounds as possible inward as well as outward. The more sounds you have that are identical in either breath direction, the more flexibility you have in your beat and routine development options. The other is designing patterns to utilize your good inward sounds and outward sounds in a balanced way so that you never need to stop to breathe. Obviously these play off of one another in the sense that if you have more identical inward sounds you gain a lot more flexibility to create exactly the sounds you want to create rather than having to compromise what's being played in order to also be able to, y'know, not pass out or get totally gassed.

You just came up in my Home Free reaction feed. I had a grin on my face watching your reaction. This is my favourite Adam Rupp drum solo clip. Adam taught himself enough drums to accurately reflect the movements an actual drummer would make. He has a beautiful tenor, but he is the only one of the five members that won't sing lead. Glad you enjoyed it.

Love Adam Rupp & his insane talent. He is the best out there in my opinion. He simulates the sounds of a drum perfectly. Many drummers have commented on how good he is. He sounds so realistic. His breath control must be crazy. I heard he makes the sounds both while inhaling & exhaling. This was a few years ago & hard to believe but he is even better now. Adam is the glue that holds Home Free together. He is their secret weapon which other a cappella groups can't match. Adam's skills are showcased in so many songs such as "Man Of Constant Sorrow", "Sea Shanty Medley", Ain't Going Down (Til The Sun Comes Up), "American Pie" & many more.

Oh yeah, Elizabeth has seen it! I watched her reaction to it! And, I watched her interview a couple of the HF guys. I've seen LOTs of her reactions. Adam did not start as a drummer. He started by playing trumpet. The progressed up.

Responding to your point about vocalizing your parts during practice: Years ago our marching band instructor had us sing whole run throughs of our shows on the bus when were close to our competition locations. It helped us all with our focus and we usually took first place. I was one of the percussionists. Singing our parts definitely helped.

Adam Rupp is not an ordinary beatboxer but an inhuman mouth artist. Listen to various songs by Home Free, the group that Adam Rupp started for more than 20 years with his brother Chris (left the group in 2016), then you will understand what I mean. He is so unbelievably good. There is also a newer video of a "drum solo" where it shows and hears even more and better

Home Free is a group of 5 and they all sing as well as do their own instrumentals. Man of Consent Sorrow is an excellent one to listen to and they have a super bass.

I think Adam's biggest strength is ahen you listen to the songs they do he doesn't over do the beat boxing. He is so good you completely forget there is a person doing the drums.

Adam is crazy good. He can not only do drums but didgeridoo, bugs, harmonica, all manner of sounds. I love that video because it’s so clear. Now he uses a looper so he can layer lots of tracks on stage and it saves his voice I’m sure. He is a trumpet player but taught himself drums so he can do the correct movements with his voice. Home Free is an a cappella group and they can all beatbox to a degree. They are all super talented. The man who introduced Adam is Tim Foust and he’s the bass but has a 5 octave range. Good reaction and Elizabeth interviewed Tim…she’s pretty knowledgeable about Home Free.

I'm not a drummer myself -- started in band on percussion in 5th grade, but switched to French horn in 8th. But I teach music, so I'm always interested in learning more about all instruments to teach them better. But as a non-drummer, I really appreciate the role Adam plays in Home Free. He pretty much drives everything. It may not be the most technically impressive, but two songs where I think his beatboxing is integral to carrying it are Mayday and One Man Band. As a director, when my elementary choir has a combo accompanying them, I always take note of how much of a difference a good, musical drummer can make -- i.e. one who can really bring out the strength of the group, but who also practices enough restraint and shows enough musical sensitivity to always serve and drive the music. I hear that in Adam, especially on these songs.

If you want to hear Adam basic do some amazing straight-ahead drumming, catch Home Free doing Elvira or Ring of Fire. Both have some wonderful drumming which has even fooled some of the drummers I play with.

This type of performance is not for an amateur. Adam Rupp is a two time world champion beatboxer and it shows in his performances. The quality and amount of sounds and effects he can mimic are incredible. And yes, he can sing as well. In songs that have no beatboxing, such as their cover of How Great Thou Art, you can hear his singing ability. I strongly suggest that you watch Home Free's cover of Man of Constant Sorrow to see Adam Rupp's air harmonica and Adam Chance doing a perfect mouth harp, as well as some great singing from the group.

I guess you'll just have to analyze his drumming and percussion in the Home Free videos. there are so many to choose from. As a suggestion you could react to Their cover of "Try Everything -Zootopia" and or Lee Greenwood's "God Bless The USA" featuring the Singing Sargent's. If your ever interested in reacting to another beat box video i highly recommend you watch a video of the beatboxer helium probably one of if not the best human drum sets out there right now, id recommend his GBB 2020 wildcard and maybe his battle vs inertia in gbb 2021 however the second has alot less emphasis on pure drumming

I can hear the amount of respect you have for Adam. I think Adam can sit at the drums and is respectical. He played trumpet through college. He also sings low tenor when Home Free does 5-part harmony in their songs. I would suggest if you wish to hear Adam featured in a song you can react to "Some Girls Do", American Pie - he goes for over 7 minutes in that one without a break, and he sings in Brothers in Arms as there is no beatboxing - beware Brothers in Arms is truly a masterpiece & is an all-vocal cover of the 1985 Dire Straits hit by Mark Knopler....by the way Home Free can be addicting

We Home Fries love our Adam Rupp. He is self taught and has been honing his skills for 20 years and it shows. He never rests on his past accomplishments, however. He has improved since this video and he's always adding to his repertoire and changing things up to keep it fresh. I have so much respect and admiration for Adam. Never paid one bit of attention to beat boxing/vocal percussion until I discovered Home Free and became fascinated listening to and watching Adam do his thing. Now I can't get enough of his performances. He is awesome in my opinion. Adam learned enough drums to make his performance accurate. He's a stickler for details. He also plays keyboard, bass guitar, and his college major was trumpet performance. He also would fill in for any instrument in his church band that were absent. He does sing some, but he's not vocally trained as are the other 4 members of Home Free. He has a nice tenor voice and does harmonies and small solo parts in certain Home Free performances. Someone asked Adam in an interview how long it took him to learn to beat box and he answered that he's still learning.

Adam said in an interview that he learned enough drums to get his hand placement correct. He majored on the trumpet in college and I know he plays some guitars and does sing some but prefers to beatbox

I've heard it said that he did learn to play drums mostly so that he could do the moves realistically along with the sound. Also, keep in mind this was like 7 years ago...he's only gotten better. He's also gotten known for his "harmonica." You honestly can't tell it's not the instrument.

Yes, in Man of Constant Sorrow he does the simulated drum track, simulated harmonica and some ambient forest sounds. Another HF member, Adam Chance, does the diggeri-doo, juice-harp, whatever you want to call it. When they perform that song onstage, they use a looping machine, because even Adam can't do fake drums and fake harmonica simultaneously.

Adam was a trumpet major in college and watched videos to teach himself drums to beatbox for this group. He credits his trumpet breathing technique for how he drums today. He has only gotten better through the years and adds sound effects constantly. Tim jokes that Adam has found a way to use his Adhd for the good, his attention to detail is amazing

Adam isn't a drummer but after 20+ yrs beatboxing, he can find his way organically around a drum kit. However he played the trumpet and sang growing up. The other harmonica simulation is in Man of Constant Sorrow. In some of the more recent live shows, Austin also brings in a vocal harmonica.

I absolutely love Man of Constant Sorrow. Adam's harmonica and Chance's Jaw Harp sounds are both amazing. And such a different singing style for Austin. I'm not sure what Chance is doing there, but he also makes some very interesting sounds in Can't Stop the Feeling.

This one is the original drum solo video, from 2015. There's been 3 or 4 more that have hit RU-vid since then. The latest is titled Adam Rupp Beatbox/Drum Solo (New Version)- Home Free 11-2-21. You might find it interesting to compare the two and see how much he's improved in the six years.

She did point out many things we may overlook, including the vocal percussion created by Adam Rupp. However, she hasn't particularly reacted to his drum solo. Yes, Elizabeth is familiar with Home Free which Adam is a founding member of. Adam played trumpet when he was younger, not drums. I'm not sure if he plays now. Adam sings a little when needed but he's not a trained singer. Thanks for the reaction.

The "radio voice" at the beginning was Home Free's bass singer Tim Foust. Probably one of the best bass singers in the world -- with a nearly 5 octave range (B0-A5).

Adam is a for-real drummer _and_ a championship-winning beatboxer. To call him "the best in the word" is mildly hyperbolic, though; at one point he _was,_ but beatboxing has come a long, _long_ way since then. I will say, when it comes to producing a consistent groove, for hours on end at a concert, with every sound just absolutely perfect, literally nobody I'm aware of tops him, although someone like River, Alem, or D-Low could probably give him a run for his money if they focused on that for a while instead of innovation and developing highly technical competition routines.

Adam Rupp is trumpeter. You need to watch " The Sing Off" where they battled against other up and comers in their field. I have been a "Home Fry" (fan) for over 5 years, and their growth has been awesome. Also check out "Ring of Fire" feat Avi Kaplan of Pentatonix, it ranks with Elvira in my opinion. ELVIRA 1981 release for Oak Ridge Boys.

Listen, first time I have seen your channel and deciding whether to subscribe. Let me say I have known about Adam and Home Free since they were on The Sing Off and won. This was 7 years ago. When you react to Home Free or any aspect of their talent, you don't need anyone to tell you what you already know. He is a drummer, he can sing beautifully and you can actually see that first hand if you watch Helplessly Hoping (cover of Crosby, Stills and Nash) and also Ain't Going Down Till the Sun Comes Up which is relatively new cover released on Facebook only. So you have to go their page to catch it. I have been musical nearly all of my life. I prefer to hear people who don't need to pick what they hear apart in a technical sense. If you can't appreciate it as it is, then no amount of technical breakdown will help. So please...recommend Home Free and ask between yourselves, but don't visit unnecessary critique on those that just love it for what it is....great music and real talent. Also your friend "The Charismatic Voice" has reviewed Home Free. I just don't listen to her because she bores me. Not the least bit interested in what she has to say.
