Is this a Loyalist band? If so I can only say that I'm pleased to be living in England where, although there is much wrong here at present, we don't divide along the lines of religious tribalism. Very few people over here take religion seriously and I believe we are much the better for it. And how sad to see your young people indoctrinated so early.
All I can say to this message is you obviously don't know anything about our marching bands. The first thing that comes to your head is "hate" when the reality is far from the truth. I'm also surprised you think it is harmful to young people, when it a great education for young people. Learning a instrument, learning to march & have discipline, great exercise!!! Learning the geographical side of exploring your country, making lots of friends from Scotland, England , Northetn Ireland , Ireland. And most importantly keeping them from doing other silly things & getting in trouble. I encourage any young person to join a band, they same way I would encourage them to join the military. Discipline. So your well of track on the conclusion of a loyalist band.
Well said @ulsterborn7137. What you see here is a people coming together for a cause and celebrating their history and traditions. I have lived in England and there is not an ounce of communal spirit left. It doesn't seem positive to me and i'm glad it's not the case in Ulster.
Its all about hate, I grew up in Cow Town, played in a band ..the fife as it happens, worked to Bobby Anderson painting banners....took my catholic friend to my high school dance, the headmaster threw him out, bigotry and division , get them kids like me in a band shouting, fuck the pope and the virgin Mary? the woman who carried Jesus our Lord, yes all about tradition and playing an instrument and culture, my blood arse…..all about the bloody free masons and hating one another, don’t get me wrong, much much wrong with the other side as well mate, but thanks God I got out of there.
