the gold were better but the black were more entertaining which counts for more in a battle but if it were a real competition the gold would prolly win except for that one girl who looked like she had no idea whats goin on
I feel I should point this out for any future reference. If during the cadence if you absolutely have to do something out of the ordinary or unexpected do it for the good of the line. When the girl on snare rolled up her sleeve in the middle of the cadence,it become really hard for me to focus on anything but her sleeve. All I could think was "REALLY,did she really do that?!" Like bending down to tie your shoe in the middle of traffic. Also one of the first things my friends on the line told me was "If nothing else, look like you enjoy playing." This is important because if your in the middle of a battle and you look like your miserable your going to begin to play and sound like your miserable. Notice how the girl looked completely stiff, bad idea.
This music is just too basic. I'm in my school's drum line, and I have a drum line the same size as the drum line on the left; I'm the only tenor player. I always want to have a drum line that goes around and battles other lines like this, but the only thing we do is play in the marching band. We should really have a separate, indoor drum line that plays by itself in the winter, so the music is more challenging and complex, and we could still play in the marching band in the fall.
