This is my favorite album too. James finally got someone to record and mix his voice perfectly. You can tell this album was mixed by a guitarist and drummer LOL. People complain about the lack of bass in this album. But because there is no bass, there is much more eq room to hear and feel Lars's best kick patterns ever. People also complain that there work isn't as good now. Well, show me a thrash heavy metal band that's been together AND touring just under 40 years and plays and writes as well as they do now and I'll show you the unicorn I just caught. Megadeth has had consistently better albums. I love Metallica but their last album had 2 thrash songs and the rest were hard rock. Megadeth's last album was superior

@@pickamaterina1313 Cryptic Writings had a few good songs, Risk was awful, The World Needs a Hero had several good songs, The System has Failed is a great album, United Abominations was a good album, Endgame was an excellent album, Thirteen was decent, Super Collider had like 2 or 3 decent songs, and Dystopia is an amazing album. Probably their best since Youthanasia but the other albums I mentioned stand on their own has good to great albums. Metallica hasn't done anything good since this album. Their self title album (The Black Album) while it had great production had only a handful of good songs. Same goes for Load and Reload. St. Anger was fucking terrible. Death Magnetic has great songs but the production of the album makes it kinda hard to listen to. Which brings us to Hardwired to Self-Destruct. Opening track is great everthing in the middle is pretty bland and forgettable except for one or two songs. And then the closing track Spit Out the Bone is great. By far the best on the album. So in terms of consistency Megadeth does have better albums...mostly because they have a lot more lol. Maybe nothing really jumps out at you like their old stuff but that's like any other band. But in terms of song writing Megadeth still is more consistent.

This is the song that makes me want to find every Metallica "fan" who claims there is no bass on the album and beat them senseless. ARE YOU FUCKIN' DEAF? You can CLEARLY hear the bass right behind the guitar at the same riffs at 3:17. James' riff plays first and Jason is like a nanosecond behind making the bass OBVIOUSLY in the mix. And it repeats every time they play that riff. You can also hear Jason's bass pretty clearly at points in Blackened. Also, in the next track you will listen to.

Back in the late eighties, they used to have awesome t- shirts. My friend would only wear MetallicA shirts, black pants and black shoes. His room was covered completely in their posters. From 88 to 93 or so he did this. My favorite shirt was their glow in the dark skeleton on the electric chair. I read that Motorhead basically influenced and was the precursor to them, while Venom kind of paved the way for Slayer. Diamond Head is covered by MetallicA numerous times. " Garage Days" is a late 80's album that is absolutely mind-blowing, covering them extensively.

Justice is my fave album too. I wish Cliff Burton could have been there for that album. If you get a chance go check out some vids where a really talented bass guitarist plays along side Justice For All so you can hear what it might have sounded like!

This was Lars' best album. After this album he started hearing rumors about people downloading music for free. It made him so mad that he forgot how to drum.

You need to see these songs live from 1989 Live Shit, Binge and Purge. ie. from their Box Set back in 1993. Here's Blackend from 89 tour on the set. ...I do think you might be pausing a little _too_ much? I understand that it's for commentary, and I'm all for that, but if you pause and go back a full 10 seconds to comment "I like that transition" six times in a row, I think that might be cause to tone it down a bit

@@chrispytelomeres9863 I don't think lars is the most technical guy in the world. But simple doesn't always mean bad he's Defiantly is not the BEST drummer, but it works and he does some cool shit here and there from at least what I heard, he is a simple drummer.
