i get why the random octave jumps are not everyone's thing, but i personally do think they fit the song. (especially because. as you said, stagecraft & performance art - she created a whole character for live performances of the song lol. an idol who's supposed to be unstable. & i think that came across in this first take)

I think it does fit the tone, but queen bee as a band in general does songs and arrangements that are a little more brash and extreme to some people. I can see them not being everyone’s cup of tea although they do have some more understated songs

The song “fire” by queen bee (the first take) is also super epic

I recommend two other Queen Bee's performances from The First Take, songs "Fire" and "Impregnable". First one is first opening from anime "Dororo" from 2019, one of Queen Bee's best songs, insane high notes! In that performance are only Avu-chan (vocal) and Hibari-kun (acoustic guitar), I'm not sure if you know, but Queen Bee is band's name. And second song is their older song from 2012, it's very emotional song, you can see, hear and feel that is important for Avu-chan, and in this performamce is full band. In both videos are english subs, especially in second song it's important. ;)

The song fits the anime, some feels issues within, but it was done for a reason.
