Ther is no such thing as a favourite Rammstein song mate!

Again for Rammstein, the lyrics are simple but tricky. Background: Rammstein was often wrongly accused of being a right-wing band (Nazi band). This song is their answer. The chorus "Links 2 3 4" (left 2 3 4) comes from military marching. There is a command "Im Gleichschritt Marsch" (March in step) and every soldier starts with his left foot. To ensure all are in sync, the seargent (or who ever leads that formation) shouts "Links 2 3 4", one word for every step (at least a couple of times after started). So Rammstein choose a military phrase. Military in Germany is oftenly associated to right-wing kind of thinking. In the calm part of the lyrics, Till questions common German expressions related to hearts (e.g.: Can hearts break? Can a heart be out of stone?). And before the main chorus starts, Till sings "Sie wollen mein Herz am rechten Fleck, doch seh ich dann nach unten weg, dann schlägt es links." (They want my heart in the right place (normal meaning of "right place" is "correct place"), but when I look down it's beating left (second meaning of "heart beating left" is "left minded"/"open minded"). Then starts the military phrase. So they are playing with right-wing aestetics while making a left-wing statement.

The way Till can change his voice tone from one side of the spectrum to the other, and with such ease, is amazing. If you don't pay attention, you might think it's someone else singing. Amazing talent on display on that stage. And also, one of the very few bands still with the original formation.

Rammstein har probably the best audio technicians on this planet! To make this wall of sound so good and crisp at the same time is amazing, both live and studio! Great reaction!

I seen them at the phillips Arena in Atlanta!!! They came out marching exactly like this but down the middle isle steps threw the crowd! It was awesome! Havent listened to them much lately but quite a bit years back

The stage setup, light show and fireworks at the ongoing European tour are amazing - especially for this song! Can‘t wait to see them at Lisbon next week and looking forward to the release of the shows recorded last fall at Mexico City 💥

..I love their videos, almost all as well! Some sound better on video, maybe because their art on video is "the bar" as well.. Sonne, Zeit, Deutschland, Amerika, Radio, are some of them.. I never was a guy of having a favourite band..until i heard them! My first music of them i heard, was "feuer frei" ..(i like video, but the live in Maddison Square Garden is funnier and sounds great as well) .. Benzin like both video and live.. and there are some gems from them, made by fans with subtitles like "Donaukinder", ..honestly, i have some less favourite, but on some days i like them.. From 1 to 10, for me, all are from 7 to 10..some work better on video version, some on live.. I am paraplegic, and they come to Portugal in June.. i may go watch them with my son and nephew, to create a life experience..

This song is a modern version of "German socialist song" whose lyrics were written by "Bertold Brecht" in 1934 the refrain was then "Drum, links, zwei, drei), this song was intended as a reaction to the Nazi regime (of sinister memory) who was in power at the time. "Rammstein" clearly shows here his attachment to a left-wing political party! The video clip is also extremely interesting! If you want to sing along with "Rammstein" along with the lyrics ( left hello ) you have to clap your chest on the heart side! ....that said this song deserves other and very interesting developments!

Favourite song? Yikes... I've seen them live four times now (and I will not miss them in Sweden ever again). There are a few songs that's excellent live due to the theatrics. If anyone can find a good clip of Mein Teil it would be awesome. The last two shows there has been Puppe as a new crowd favourite. Feuer Frei! is always an inferno on stage. Songs with good videos are always good, Deutschland have been stuck in my head. Of the eight studio albums so far, five of them have a track that is more or less made to open a show; the live show opening number is always spectacular. Opening with "Was ich liebe" in Stockholm 2019 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0CZRY7dsZrA.html I'm standing an arm's length from the fence to the right. That opening blast was for REAL.

This was Rammstein's response to fake media accusations that they were right-wing extremists. In the song they clarify that the heart is on the left ("links" in German). My favorite Rammstein song is probably Stein um Stein, live from Volker Ball.
