A glockenspiel is a 9 mm xylophone. It's not surprising that some of the TRYers didn't know the word "gerrymandering." It's an American word, and practice (sadly). It's a portmanteau of the name Elbridge Gerry (an early American politician) and the word "salamander," because Gerry once helped create a district that people said was shaped like a salamander.

Interestingly, Gerry pronounced his surname with a hard _G_ - which somehow shifted to a soft _G_ when the term _gerrymander_ entered wide use.

I was a competitive speller as a child and competed in the Scripps National Spelling Bee a few times. I was always really prepared to spell Schadenfreude for some reason lmao. And yes, it’s so intense because there is also a switch with a red/green light and you wait for them to signal your right or wrongness!

Haitch, notwithstanding for their pronunciation of H, I love that they are saying "oar" for R 😂 🐝 The 'bee' in 'spelling bee' is possibly an alteration of an English dialect word that meant “voluntary help given by neighbors toward the accomplishment of a particular task,” that word being a descendant of the Middle English word 'bene' - Merriam Webster dictionary

You guys and gals at the Try Channel are just fantastic!!!! I laugh so much at the witty remarks and incredible Irish personalities. My grandparents were "off the boat" Irish and I see so much of my late aunts some of the faces. I really love this channel and I have grown very fond of your regular guests. It's also great to see our hosts fill in and to hear a hoot of laughter from behind the camera. We have a local company called Tastykake that produces individual fruit pies. When I was a child they were 10 cents and I remember my father throwing a fit when they went to 11 cents. When they went to $0.15 he vowed never to buy one again. Now you can get two for $5 on sale. I don't know how it would work to get a batch to you, but they make MANY varieties and they are GOOD. Take care and cheers from America! The Irish are the very BEST.

@@LindaC616 I've been watching the channel for about 8 years and I'm pretty sure they never tried Tastykake. Hostess and Drakes they have tasted before. I think they would love the fruit pies, there are more varieties than they could do in 1 show. I used to work near the bakery and the wife of a baker gave me an entire case of various pies. I was in heaven!

I remember because my niece and her kids were coming for a visit and I was wondering what kinds of things I would need to have in the house that kids like, since I generally eat pretty healthy. That came up at a time that made me decide I would try them for the first time and have snacks for my niece's kids, and kill two birds with one stone

**"A funny word for a scary thing." You have no idea. It is the only thing that decides many elections in the U.S. from local ones to the presidency. Common to completely split-off a college or section of a city that won't vote the way the politicians want and ignore them.
