Another sad day in the life of Ms. Barbara Rose. Wonderfully played by actress Harriet Sansom Harris, a stage and screen veteran best known for her roles on Frasier and Desperate Housewives.

Harriet is portraying Barbara Hutton , the Woolworth heiress, who was known to have drink and drug difficulties, the scene depicts Barbara's marriage to the play-boy Porfirio Rubirosa. Harriet gives an amazing performance and a sympathetic portrayal of Barbara Hutton. Thank you

Barbara Hutton was married and divorced seven times, including a baron, three princes, a count, a playboy, and actor Cary Grant. The press dubbed them “Cash n’ Cary.” Her only child was Lance Reventlow, fathered by her 2nd husband, a Danish Count. Lance was a handsome playboy and famous race car driver. He married actress Jill St. John in 1960 and divorced in 1963. Then he married ex-Mousketeer Cheryl Holdridge in 1964. They remained married until Lance was killed in a airplane crash in 1972 at the age of 36.

Harriet Harris absolutely nailed portraying a stumbling wreck of a person. There are so many shifting, rapid fire micro expressions of different emotions, her doped up forgetfulness, her 6:27 constantly being on the edge of bursting into tears... She makes Barbara Rose so uncomfortable to be around, both pitiable and disgustingly pathetic. Harris is so good in this short role that it really stays with me. I feel so sad for her, especially knowing she was based on a real woman.

His dresses are for magical wonen, living magical lives. Barbara is-tragic. And her aura of failure will taint the magic in his dresses.* *Didn't like him menacing the assistant though.

Reminds me a little of Olivia Colman in "The Favorite."
