You did a very good job there I am just curious as to why you did not do it the with of the net. Now your bag and crate are on the edge of the pad.

First, thank you for the compliment I appreciate that. As to why I didn’t do it the width of the net there are a couple of reasons neither of which may seem logical. First, it was my very first attempt at dry pouring so I was a little nervous about taking on a project, bigger than I can handle. Second, I wanted to go on the cheap just in case I messed it up somehow. In retrospect, the job was much simpler than I expected and much cheaper than I expected. I do wish I had made the slab a little larger.

How has the concrete pad held up? Have you had any cracking or groove marks from the club?

Not a single crack, hairline or otherwise. It’s as good as the day I first started using it (2 days after dry pouring). No grooves either (no, I’m not sure how grooves could happen)

I found your vid by searching for "dry pour concrete" so I've never seen your channel before. Not sure if it is only this video but it was very glitchy. Maybe it's time for a new camera - one that starts recording when you touch the Record button 😁 Seriously, though, thanks for being able to follow the directions for dry pour. That doesn't seem to come easy for some folks. Nice job.

It was tempting to take short cuts, especially on the misting steps and the watering, but I thought trusting the process was crucial and being smart enough to know that I didn’t know better than those who went before me, well, it seems to have paid off. Thanks for the comments, even the teasing about my camera ‘skills’

I know I’m doing something wrong, when I practice I’m getting sort of irritation on the inside of my rear forearm a few inches below my rear elbow. I have always kept my rear elbow tucked in to my side, and never had this problem. I have done versions of this swing before. I might be rubbing on my belt.

This took 15 x 60lbs bags. It’s 6’ x 5’4” x 3” thick. Most concrete calculators online said around 18-20 bags.

shouldve used an edge tool, the edges and corners are gonna crack all apart.

I tried using the edge tool and I did a horrible job. I didn’t have the touch. I don’t think I screeded good enough because when I edged, I kept exposing aggregate.

@@yoursimplegolfswing Easy fix: use a brick like you would sandpaper to soften the edges (vids on this) - other than that looks perfect!

Or just buy a high quality hitting mat like the one I have. I used this mat on my concrete lanai for 2 years before I built my original wood platform. 3 years on the wood platform.
